B.B. King Daughter Claims Elder Abuse Police Called in Dispute Over Care
Blues legend B.B. King's daughter believes he is being abused ... and called police Thursday to settle a dispute over whether he needed to be hospitalized. TMZ has learned there's a huge battle over B.B.'s care -- between his daughter Patty King and his longtime manager Laverne Toney. Patty, who lives with her father in Las Vegas ... tells us she wanted to take him to the hospital because his urine was orange and he wasn't eating. She claims Toney -- who has power of attorney over B.B. -- refused, so Patty called police. Responding officers called in paramedics, who agreed B.B. needed to be checked out by doctors.

ETERNAL Spirit of God, by the love Thou bearest toward St. Joseph, who guarded with such tender care most holy Mary, Thy beloved spouse, have mercy on us and upon all poor souls who are in their agony.
God Bless B.B. He was a blues legend and one of my favorites. Such Talent. I have the opinion his heirs are fighting over his money.
Horrible. Not only elder abuse....have you ever seen him play guitar??? Just Horrible.
Power of attorney is not power to make health care decisions.
This is going to end badly. And then continue for years thereafter.
My heart is breaking seeing that picture.
Why would BB give power of attorney to a non family member??? He looks like he’s knocking on heavens door. Well, power of attorney is only good as long as BB is alive. Lets see...they come in threes and two soul singers have passed in the last few weeks.
Daaaamn that was AWESOME! I never heard that, I can’t believe it!
What is meant by power of attorney “over” him?
“Power of attorney is not power to make health care decisions.”

Maybe, maybe not. In some jurisdictions a living will is called a health care power of attorney. Of course, this power of attorney would be separate from the common power of attorney pertaining to financial affairs and what not.
He will be the first to admit he can’t play, all he can play is lead breaks. They may be basic breaks, but his vibrato is rarely matched. I’ve watched him in concert 5 feet away from me vibrating an F note on the lower E string like a hummingbird, just absolutely insane power and control. But putting that all aside, he is a great singer more than anything.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Oh damn, someone posted on that website that he died:

The BBC is reporting that he passed away.
No, that is Ben E. King, not B.B. King.
Prayers for Mr. King’s health.
Two of my all time favorites ...I’ve got tears streaming down my face from watching -
King was never a great guitarist, but he had a big character that filled the stage. In many ways, he was the James Brown of Blues. 20 years ago, he could hold his own with his style, five years ago, he was on stage for people to honor for his past work.
B.B. King got me interested in blues and because of that, I have been able to see so many of that generation of blues musicians before they passed.
I really hope he is getting good care from people who love him. He deserves nothing less.
According to BB's Facebook page, he's under in-home hospice care in Las Vegas.
I said Whoa, baby,
I said Whoa, baby,
I said Whoa, baby,
Babe I Aint Never Heard You Play No Blues
I beg to differ. He has more taste in his little finger than most guitarists who showcase their chops.
An artist. Everything he does fits.
