In the past few months, the Capitol Hill Police has recorded at least three instances where their officers accidentally left their loaded Glocks in bathrooms WAIT, HOLD UP, WHAT?!
Roll Call, which broke this mindblowing tale of stupidity, reports that two of the guns were found in the Capitol office complexes itself: one in the bathroom of the Capitol Visitors Center, casually wedged into a toilet seat cover dispenser. One was reportedly picked up by an 8-year-old boy touring Speaker John Boehners office with his parents. (Lets repeat that: An 8-year-old tourist found a Glock in Boehners office.) The third Glock was discovered casually chilling in the open at the Capitol Police headquarters building.
This is how casual were talking about, by the way:
The alarming part is that these are the only three incidents Roll Call knows about, since the Capitol Police are not required to disclose such incidents. Their sources indicated that forgotten Glocks were commonplace: None seemed surprised, and two offered other examples of officers who were investigated for leaving their guns unsecured or unattended. So far, only one of the officers has been reprimanded and placed on a six-day suspension without pay. The other two incidents are still under investigation.
It is quite possible that the Capitol Police Department was having an Easter Egg hunt, except instead of plastic eggs full of candy and temporary tattoos, they hid shiny Glocks that lack traditional safety mechanisms, are constantly cocked, and will immediately fire when the trigger is pulled. We guess thats how policemen tasked with guarding our governments security celebrate Easter?
In DC or some places I would have mine in hand at the ready to prevent one of our protected classes from trying to take advantage of a situation. Also prevent Bwany Fwank from ... well...
red flag! Someone is trying to scam folks here.
Look! The Glocks are falling out of the sky.
I bet there is no record of the serial numbers.
I can. If that had happened then the Capitol Police would've killed the little boy and denounced him as a right-wing Tea Partying terrorist. Then they'd shoot his dog.
HOMOPHOBE!
You are supposed to invite him in the stall and get married. It’s the new American way.
That pic looks to me like the weapon and ammo were left on purpose.
I wonder if the person who found it messed up someone’s plan.
Holy Crap, it looks like that cop-killing Glock is set on auto!
“They just don’t give a crap”.
In this case they did give a crap. Which caused them to misplace their Glock.
I casually wedge mine in my holster.
If I found a Capitol police officer’s Glock in a bathroom at the Capitol building, I’d put it in my pocket/briefcase/backpack and be on the next Orange Line Metro train to Vienna, VA.
Gonna have to start going to the restroom in DC more often...........
Try the veal. It's the best in the city.
This is the Capitol Police, not the Secret Service.
I’m not saying the SS is any better overall, but let’s place the blame where it needs to be.
I understand your post, and agree with your thought. Having been involved for many years in the ocean shipping industry on the West Coast I had many an opportunity to be aboard many different vessels from all over the World. I can look at a ship and tell you if she has a Captain the crew respects, or doesn’t. If the crew is slovenly, it tells you the Captain is. If the ship is filthy, greasey, unkempt it generally means the Captain just doesn’t care about anything, but himself, or his bottle of booze. IF the Captain doesn’t give a rats patooty, the crew doesn’t. Same in any corporation, or small business.
Yes, you are correct. These people very likely just don’t give a damn anymore after the years of lousey leadership from the top.
That is correct...
So take off the whole belt and hang it on the hook inside the stall.
You’d have to be REALLY unobservant to not notice your entire utility belt was missing when you got ready to exit the bathroom.
At least you won’t have to leave that john with only your d—k in your hand...
lol
