My Friend,
Earlier this week when the Senate was asked to vote on confirming Loretta Lynch as the next Attorney General of the United States, I voted no.
During her confirmation hearing before the Judiciary Committee, Ms. Lynch stated her belief that the President's recent executive actions on immigration were "reasonable" and "constitutional."
My Friend, I could not support anyone to be the highest law enforcement official in America who supports the President's clearly unconstitutional actions. That's why I cast my vote "NO."
The job of the U.S. Attorney General is to represent the people of the United States and to "do justice." It is not to serve as a cheerleader or policy advocate for the president - that is what Loretta Lynch's comments show that she would be.
The security of our nation depends on the steps we take today. You can count on me to always fight for a better, stronger, safer America.
It has been the great honor of my life to work for our shared values in Washington. Thank you for your commitment to our nation and your continued support. I am most appreciative.
Sincerely,
John McCain
I happen to think that he was brainwashed by the North Vietnamese while imprisoned in the Hanoi Hilton, kind of like the Manchurian candidate. He was not brainwashed to ‘kill’ anyone. He was brainwashed simply to be a communist and turncoat.
The elite did not need him. If they did, he would have voted yes.
Collins could vote yes because the Dems and GOPe in Maine love her.
So have any conservative candidates lined up to run against him in the primary yet? Arizona really needs to elect a Ted Cruz.
Wonder why Lindsey voted yes if John voted no? That’s not in the pattern for these two. Interesting to note MY (black) senator, Tim Scott, voted against Lynch. (I’m very proud he represents ME .. And no, I did not vote for Graham).
McCain voted against Cloture....(must be concerned about a primary challenge)
He’ll have to do better than that... too much ground lost over the last decades.
“Guess who is running for re-election?”
The six year locust is reemerging.
But he voted FOR cloture lol
I will bet any amount of money that he only did so after McConnell counted the votes and determined that they did not need McCain.
Ho did he vote on the Cloture?
McCain voted NO because it was political expedient to do so, you can bet if they needed just one vote to pass her, he would have stepped up to the plate.
This decrepit old goat needs to go down hard, and in the Republican primary. If nothing else it might send a message to the other supposedly Republican old goats who talk a good game, and then vote Marxist at every possible opportunity.
Dear John
I’m not your friend. I don’t share your values. I’d still like to know all that occurred in the Hanoi Hilton. Your attempt to re-cast yourself as a conservative should fail on the next AZ election.
Yep, next year, 2016 ...... What time is it boys & girls?
Once again, it’s time for Juan to pretend he’s not a Democrat.
Exactly what I was thinkin’. : )
Actually, it is. Their voting records are not identical. Graham is unfortunately to McCain's left on Obama nominations. There's been several occasions when McCain voted NO and Graham voted YES, for example, Sonia Sotomayor's confirmation ( http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/07/31/us/politics/0731-sotomayor-vote.html ) On the flip side, Graham is more conservative than McCain on other issues, like gun rights.
