So I'm watching a rerun of the Big Bang Theory, one of the first with the Bernadette character. She is wearing a crucifix around her neck. Then I caught a more recent episode. No crucifix. It has been replaced by some sort of pendant.
I don't watch the Big Bang Theory very often, but that did strike me as curious.
She’s supposed to be Catholic......and her boyfriend is Jewish.
It is almost like this is all made up inside the minds of the writers.
I see. It's no big deal, but I'm curious why she's no longer wearing the crucifix. Did someone get offended?
I’ve tried to like BBT but just can’t pull it off. The audience laughs at every line spoken, funny or not. Drives me up the wall.
That actress, Melissa Rausch, is Jewish. She probably wore the cross for a few years and, after she became more famous, demanded that she leave it off.
And when I speak of you, I see envy in other men's eyes
And I'm well aware of what's on their minds
They pretend to be my friend when all the time
They long to persuade you from my side
They'd give the world and all they own for
Just one moment we have known
Bernadette they want you
Because of the pride that it gives
But Bernadette I want you because
I need you to live
But while I live only to hold you
Some other men, they long to control you
But how can they control you Bernadette
When they can not control themselves Bernadette
From wanting you, needing you
But darling you belong to me, I'll tell the world
You belong to me, I'll tell the world
You're the soul of me, I'll tell the world
You're a part of me Bernadette
In your arms I find the kind of peace of mind the world is searching for
But you, you give me the joy this heart of
Mine has always been longing for
In you I have what other men long for
All men need someone to worship and adore
That's why I treasure you and place you high above
For the only joy in life is to be loved
So whatever you do, Bernadette
Keep on loving me, Bernadette
Keep on needing me, Bernadette
Bernadette you're the soul of me, more than a dream
You are planned to me
And Bernadette you mean more to me
Than a woman was ever meant to be
Bernadette
Ooooooh!
I don’t think there’s an audience. It sounds like canned laughter. BBT story line is a big promoter of gay agenda, which is why I don’t understand why my grown very anti-gay daughter watches it.
There is a live audience and they swear they do not use “technical audio augmentation” aka laugh tracks. I find it damned hard to believe, but if it is true, the result is even more irritating.
They are married now.
She’s my favorite female character on Big Bang Theory. Smart nice rack and a mean streak a mile wide
I read someplace that the audience became mostly CalTech students.
It's not at all. Although its obvious that Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, is gay, his character is presented as completely asexual, which is the subject of a lot of the show's jokes.
In earlier episodes there was some suggestion that Raj and Howard -- both of whom were extraordinarily unsuccessful with women -- were gay. But Howard got married to Bernadette, and Raj, while somewhat effeminate has a girlfriend now too.
I think the show is extremely witty and well-written. Just about the only network show I watch.
I don't have much tolerance for shows that shove the gay agenda in my face. BBT is definitely NOT one of them.
Great tune. Personally, my favorite from the Four Tops.
Maceman, I agree. I’ve seen every episode of TBBT, and I never heard any lines that promote the gay agenda.
Works for me!
BBT theory WAS great. I find that Sheldon has become a far less sympathetic character. There was a child like vulnerability to him, now I think the character is portrayed as rather mean. Not finding the show as funny or creative these days. And let’s not even get started on Penny’s new hairdo. They’ve managed to take one of the hottest women on TV and make her look like a wreck.
IMHO
