Legislators in Puerto Rico are debating a bill that would fine parents of obese children up to $800 if they don't lose weight.
The bill aims to improve children's wellbeing and help parents make healthier choices, Sen. Gilberto Rodriguez said in a statement issued Monday.
Public hearings for the bill are scheduled to begin Friday.

They should at least be honest, it is intended to raise more money for government.
Win-win!
They hate those fatties.
If they are serious they’d give $800 to patents whose kids lost weight to go from obese to non-obese.
most will be on welfare too as most overweight kids I see with their mothers are using food stamps.

I am not sure how the parents’ weight loss will affect the kids.
Busy day for PR — is there a plug in the center of the island that they are trying to pull?

No doubt, after Roosevelt Roads NAS closed PR is broker now than ever. Don’t know if fining the parents of fat kids is gonna make up the difference on that one though. :P
Exactly.
LOL
We are overrun with Mexicans here, legal and illegal. Every single time I get behind one using food stamps they’re fat and every single one of their at least 4 kids are fat.
“obese children”
Just remember....
Under Obamacare, they are “children” until age 26...
we never see hispanics here in this county, actually thinking about it we never see any diversity except a some blacks when you go into town. We live in St Johns county FL.
We do see those on food stamps with their kids who are all fat and stocked up on sodas, chips, chocolates, and all the other fatty no good foods. There is an exception though. On Thanksgiving , Superbowl and, Christmas they have their steaks, shrimp and, sodas stocked up and saw one massive black woman get change back from her supposed account and then head over to the liquor store.
Must be nice when others pay for your food and drink and then have parties with family while those workers and tax payers are struggling to get by and juggle work and family time.
