Am I the only one annoyed by the hectoring pro"women" Super Bowl "commercials?"
my own fevered imagination | February 1, 2015 | me

Posted on 02/01/2015 5:29:34 PM PST by JOHN ADAMS

Am I the only person watching this "football game" (which is actually a good football game) annoyed by these annoying lectures, masquerading as commercials, about how powerful, capable, independent and valuable women are, so we barbaric men shouldn't devalue them, disrespect them (not actually a word) or hit them? Is this really what we need to be told while we're trying to just watch a ball game? I know the rest of the culture insists on this, but aren't men the primary clientele of the NFL? Why does the NFL have to subject us to this nonsense?

I never knew women were so insecure. Guess I was wrong.

I’ve been sick of those commercials for weeks. They are almost as irritating as the months of wearing pink.

The NFL is ruled by marketers. Apparently they think it useful to pander to the liberal female set. Maybe they think they will get more female support this way. Who knows. Just ignore it and enjoy the game.

They followed the men to where they are and the ads are aimed at them, as males, collectively.

I don’t see why you guys continue watching pro football, they seem pretty hostile to their audience, to me.

I’m not watching, but I’m guessing it has to do with that old rumor that women get beaten by their men on Super Bowl Sunday more than on any other day...which, even if true, I don’t see how commercials would help. Again, just a guess.

You pony up the $2.4 million (or whatever it costs these days to run a 30-second Super Bowl ad) and the NFL is going to put it on.

I actually thought the "throw like a girl" ad was pretty good. It always annoyed me that doing anything "like a girl" is considered an insult.

I got over being annoyed by the brainwashing a long time ago. These days, I don’t even follow the culture and pity the zombies that do. TV . . . what’s that?

I mute the ads...except for the Jeff Bridges one.

And Soros has plenty to pony up.
