George Lucas had already been planning to make a seventh Star Wars film before he sold his company Lucasfilm to Disney. When the auteur handed over his iconic franchise he also gave the studio his plotline for Star Wars: Episode 7. Disney, however, did not use any of the 70-year-old filmmakers ideas for the new installment.

And if you haven't already done so everyone should watch Red Letter Media's takedown of the prequels. Amazingly well done.
Already been done. You didn't know that C3P0 was gay?
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the new Star Wars Rebels cartoon series. Billy Dee came back for the Lando Calrissian role in the last episode and still sounds the same.
Riff Trax does all six.
You can get samples from You Tube.
I don’t know Lucas man. Yousa startin pretty okee-day with a brisky movie munchy, then BOOM! Yousa gettin very lame and makin that Jar Jar and kiddy Vader! Yousa gettin’ very very lame!
Gene Roddenbery he ain’t and never was.
I do thank him for ILM though. Thanks to the advances in computer power/tech they brought into being with their presence, ...
SKYRIM!!!
Nuff said ;)
Having read about his involvement in movies and video games, he always has the worst ideas.
So they are going to rip off "Ethan of Athos"?
Would not surprise me.
:sigh:
We'll learn in the new film that his childhood name was Mickey Jar Jar.
NEVER E V E R speak the demon cursed name of the Space Basset.
E V E R....
Yes, that was my thoughts too. You can bet Disney plans to roll with a fagot or two in the next three films.
“I see your Schwartz is as big as mine....”
The problem with those movies is Lucas totally left out the element of humor that made the 1970s -early 1980s ones so good. You know like when Princess Leia says to Han Solo “I love you” and he says “I know”. Stuff like that made it great, plus casting someone who can’t act for shet like Hayden Christensen was a disaster. it came across as a amatuer project with a big budget for special effects, not to mention the plot pretty much sucked.
I couldn’t get through the first prequel!
I’m setting on pins and needles waiting for HOWARD THE DUCK II!
Darn! A blister just came up on my tongue. That’s what I get for lying!
J.J. Abrams will do way better.
Think of Jar Jar cloned. An entire PLANET full of his offspring squeaking “Meesa poop my diaper!” Welcome to Hell.
What’s interesting is when you see the guys resume for directing, it’s sparse as hell. Look at that huge gap between 1977 and 1999.. That’s 22 freakin’ years the guy never directed a movie. In a 50 year career the guy has only ever directed 6 major pictures.
