Hello FReepers. I'm looking for advice on which dashcam to purchase for my vehicle. Just looking for something quick and easy to use. Any suggestions or advice provided is greatly appreciated! Thanks
I’m going to see about a new Era go pro since it has some 4K capability. I prefer using the good lumix but it isn’t practical hauling it around and costs too much to be beat up traveling locally.
I missed a great footage opportunity last weekend just driving by and going home to pickup wouldn’t have worked. There was a car on fire in store parking lot. I could peddle that to stock agencies.

I purchased a car dash camera from FoxOffer.com for my Vette.
I paid about $100 dollars.
It took forever to come in but it has worked as advertised. The video quality is amazing.

It's not for fun, though it could be.
If someone is a truck driver like me they are invaluable to stave off insurance fraud where a 4-wheeler will intentionally cut you off and brake causing an accident that without video proof would be the trucker's fault.
If/when a cop sees that cam on the dash pointed at him,
the first thing he’ll say is “turn it off”. Guaranteed.
He’s moving to Russia but didn’t tell us that. Absolutely necessary there........ ;-)

That’s why I got the A118. It’s small and sits in front of the mirror. It doesn’t attach with a big suction cup mount or have a large display. It won’t catch him on video because it points forward, but it does record sound too.
“Turn it off!”
“Sir, are you saying that you plan to do something that you don’t want recorded?”
“the first thing he’ll say is “turn it off”.”

Two things to consider: suction cup mounts do not stand up to heat well and it will fall off one day. Also, the comments section said that this one cannot handle heat, so you have to take it off the windshield during the summer when you park the car.
Start your search based on what your smartphone is since most of the easy to use ones store the data there.
Lawsuits after auto accidents or pedestrians jumping in front of your car trying to get cash. Someone backs up hits your car then tells police you hit him. I have had this happen to me. Tell the cop excuse me but i would like to show you my video from my dashcam. That’s why! Next question?
Yes- I was going to use a couple drops of crazy glue to make sure it won’t budge.
