A North Carolina man tried to surprise his wife with breakfast in bed, but he wound up surprising her so much that she shot him, reports WTVR. Police say that Zia Segule, 28, left their Fayetteville home about 10am yesterday, picked up some breakfast, and then returned. In doing so, he triggered the house alarm. When he got to the couple's bedroom, wife Tiffany, 27, shot him through the closed door, reports the Fayetteville Observer. He was struck in the upper chest, but, luckily, escaped serious injury. No charges are being filed.
"She woke up to the sound of the alarm, she got a handgun, and then she fired through the bedroom door," says a police spokesman. "She reasonably believed there was an intruder."

When people post such idiocy, as displayed by our resident door blaster, I often wonder if their purpose is to make Conservatives and Gun Owners look bad.
There was another guy recently convicted in the U.S. A woman was under the influence and injured in a car accident. She tried to open his screen door and he shot her through it. I think he lost his gun rights and got prison time.
One of the most important rules of gun safety is to never fire until one’s target has been identified. I wonder what this woman’s knowledge of firearms was.
This case warrants further investigation.

Shot his girlfriend through the bathroom door while she sat on the toilet. Sounds like he’d be your hero. Ended up being a crippled white dude with a 5 year sentence in a South African prison. (Family probably has enough money to get him solitary in a hospital unit, so he may actually survive the experience).
