A North Carolina man tried to surprise his wife with breakfast in bed, but he wound up surprising her so much that she shot him, reports WTVR. Police say that Zia Segule, 28, left their Fayetteville home about 10am yesterday, picked up some breakfast, and then returned. In doing so, he triggered the house alarm. When he got to the couple's bedroom, wife Tiffany, 27, shot him through the closed door, reports the Fayetteville Observer. He was struck in the upper chest, but, luckily, escaped serious injury. No charges are being filed.
"She woke up to the sound of the alarm, she got a handgun, and then she fired through the bedroom door," says a police spokesman. "She reasonably believed there was an intruder."

Well , the hubbie needs more cow bell
Had to laugh at your response. Many family discussions around this one subject. There are some among us who would sprinkle everything!
This sounds very similar to an episode of “Columbo” called “Lady in Waiting.” Susan Clark shot her brother, claiming that she thought he was an intruder. Columbo was able to prove that it was murder after he realized that she shot first, THEN turned on the alarm system to the house to make it look like she was frightened by an intruder.
Not Guilty
Yeah, definitely more to the story.
Why is it that so many women named Tiffany have crazy eyes?
Did it buy the boyfriend enough time to jump out the window? :)
10 am. Hubby and wife both home. Alarm goes off shoot through door.
That’s the last thing I would do. My hubby has a habit of setting our alarm off occasionally. I haven’t shot him yet.
You’re right there’s more to the story.
Yet?
My wife set off our alarm once.....ONCE!
One would think he’d turn off the alarm and yell, “Honey, it’s just me.”
I remember back in `70 it was called that.
Saw a coupla Fayettville cops beat a drunk GI senseless.
Walk down the main street and the store owners would
all but reach in your pockets.
Hope Army towns have improved since then.
Biden says you should.
Things like this don’t always have to be complicated to understand. It could be as simple as he just forgot in his excitement to bring his wife breakfast. People, even soldiers, are just human and they can be fallible. Maybe follow-up stories will provide a clearer explanation of events.
Yes I do. I’m very precise about what I post, however I am not going to cower.
I’ve made it clear to family, coworkers, and online, that when our lives are threatened, I intend to begin shooting, and continue until the threat is removed.
You are allowed to cower, and you have also been warned not to attempt to surprise me, especially at night, as you will probably end up dead.
HOLD MUH BREAKFAST ALERT
You are allowed to cower, and you have also been warned not to attempt to surprise me, especially at night, as you will probably end up dead.
Check out the big, bad, key-board warrior!
Did it occur to you that if you fire blind through a door you can’t see your target. Therefore you’re more likely to miss and lose your advantage?
If you had any actual training you’d be aware of the basic rules of weapons safety.
- Know your target and what’s beyond
- Finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
- Never point your weapon at anything you don’t intend to destroy
- Every weapon is loaded, even if it’s not loaded
By the way, I’ve got the decency to look someone in the eye before taking their life.
You’re the one who would cower and fire blindly through an obstacle that impedes clearly identifying the target. That sounds completely craven and cowardly!
Get some courage or get rid of your weapons; you’re an accident waiting to happen!
Is that a headscarf she’s wearing, or just a wig covering her natural hair?
Looking to wind up like the South African blade runner? Didn’t work out too well for him. Of course, this gal can play the ‘card’; don’t think you have that advantage.
