The public will finally get to see The Search for Michael Rockefeller Feb. 1 when Netflix releases the documentary on one of the most compelling unsolved mysteries of the 20th century.
The film confirms what The Post reported in 1968: Cannibals devoured the son of New York Gov. Nelson Rockefeller.

Reminds me of Michael Crichton’s last “take the piss out on the left” novel where a self-righteous lib celeb goes to hang out with the gentle natives and gets eaten.
As long as we end up with fewer wealthy leftists, how doesn’t really matter.
Many stories. Many. I used to trade commodities. It was an insane ride, and I started at 21. It was insane. BTW, the maritime law was inept. Too complex for the guys in it. Always a loophole out. Even F’d Unilever and Conagra a few times. Burnt out young on that job. It was too much.
Best quote of that time was from Taipei at the lingerie bar.
American Pen is big.
Taiwan Pootchie small. ;-)
I laughed all the way back.

“...was eaten by cannibals”
Say the same thing about the Republican Party, if Bush is nominated.
Do you realize that in six months Dr. Dave will be a hundred years old?
Could be. Was getting ready to leave NZ when the airport firefighters went on strike.
Talking to a passenger from one of the last flights to land, they got the news while in the air, and Fiji was an alternative place for them to land.
The passengers and crew voted to take the [admittedly small] risk of them landing in Auckland without proper emergency crews on hand.
Apparently, that was preferable to spending time in Fiji.
We hung around Auckland for three days, missing out on spending time in Tahiti.
Not in my wildest. :) Being a plutocrat has its bennies.
There are a lot of worse ways to go....

I seriously doubt that his wife was comforted by that thought.
I remember reading somewhere ages ago that it was thought that his putting a price on skulls made his own a valuable commodity - except, once the cannibals ate it, there was no buyer.
I read this ages ago, so don't ask for a source, I don't have one.
Diamond is liberal p***y!
Dare I say...
“The other white meat...”
From Wikipedia
The koteka, horinm, penis gourd or penis sheath is a phallocrypt or phallocarp traditionally worn by native male inhabitants of some (mainly highland) ethnic groups in New Guinea to cover their genitals. They are normally made from a dried out gourd, Lagenaria siceraria, although other species, such as Nepenthes mirabilis, are also used. They are held in place by a small loop of fiber attached to the base of the koteka and placed around the scrotum. There is a secondary loop placed around the chest or abdomen and attached to the main body of the koteka. Men choose kotekas similar to ones worn by other men in their cultural group. For example, Yali men favour a long, thin koteka, which helps hold up the multiple rattan hoops worn around their waist. Men from Tiom wear a double gourd, held up with a strip of cloth, and use the space between the two gourds for carrying small items such as money and tobacco.
I didn’t know that there were Cannibals on the south side of Chicago....
My favorite sister read that book just about a year ago. She could not stop talking about it.
And, co-incidentally, we got to see the now rescued plane, which was undergoing rehabilitation, at a privately-run air museum in Pennsylvania a few months ago.
Thanks for the book rec. Just downloaded it.
Don’t touch the party favors.
Thanks for that link. I honestly do not remember anything about the disappearance of Rockefeller’s son — or even that he disappeared — but I do remember Nelson.
I wonder how many bodyguards the author of “Savage Harvest” had with him. Yipes! The people he stayed with are only a generation or 2 away from ones who killed Michael, the savages who engaged in all of the disgusting behaviors he describes.
In the photo of the author with a group of the tribesman, it looks like one of them is making gang signs!
I couldn’t put it down either.
Rumor was at the time, he died in the saddle if you get what I mean.
