The Bay Area is expected to have some of the highest tides of the year beginning Sunday, forecasters said.
King tides, which usually last up to three days three times in the winter, bring unusually high tides along the coast and bay front, said Drew Peterson, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Monterey.
The agency has already issued a coastal flood advisory to take effect Sunday morning, he said.
Low-lying areas along the bay and along the coast, such as walkways, piers and parking lots along the Embarcadero, can expect to see some seawater, he said. Those who park their cars in such areas should be aware that there may be some flooding, he added.
The high tide time for Sunday is at 10:13 a.m. and on Monday its at 10:58 a.m., he said. Tuesdays high tide is expected at 11:44 a.m. The highest tide is expected to be on Monday.

A 8.0 earthquake right now would be all the worst because the high tide.
The liberals will blame high tides and high water on global warming. Melting of the ice caps and rising sea levels and all that. Everything is somehow due to global warming.
Terrible weather!
San Anselmo took a good hit but I cant offer any figures
Can you build dikes and dams to survive this manmade disaster?
New moon.
The dam dikes in San Francisco aren't worried.
Wonder if the shortest day, longest night contributes? A convergence of events? Angle of the earth wrt to the moon?
Or maybe just a coincidence.
LOl!
Touche!
They have enough dam dykes to go around twice!
It’s all that hot air coming in from Hawaii.
Astronomically, there is a convergence of events, and added to that a Pacific storm. But a full moon is not one of the events.
Is the moon full or not directly overhead?
Waning crescent, 0% visible.
