What PUNISHMENT Should Lena Dunham Suffer for Making FALSE Rape Claim?

Breitbart has done an INVESTIGATION and has found that the rape charges that Lena Dunham hurled against an Oberlin college Republican named "Barry" are completely unsubstantiated. There was a "Barry" at Oberlin who fits some, but not all, of Dunham's description but he is definitely not the rapist. Unfortunately, "Barry," who can easily be found via Google now has the false finger of Dunham accusing him of rape. I believe he has strong grounds to take action against Lena Dunham. So what would you recommend for punishment? Here are my suggestions:

1. All copies of Dunham's books, Not That Kind of Girl, in which she made the FALSE charge should be immediately REMOVED from the marketplace.

2. Lena Dunham must compensate the publishing company with all of her advance money.

3. For at least six episodes of "Girls," a videotaped apology by Dunham for her FALSE accusation should be presented at the beginning of each show. I don't normally watch "Girls" but to see that, I would watch...at least the beginning.

4. Finally, Dunham must compensate "Barry" for damages to the tune of [Dr. Evil Voice].....TEN MILLION DOLLARS!!!

I think you covered it pretty well. And she should be required to change her social media account statuses to admit to having lied about the rape.

Younger kid just finished EMT school and she said that one of the instructors did the ipecac thing with some of his buddies. Claimed the Family Guy episode was spot on. It’s a total barf-o-rama for the longest minutes of your life, kinda like looking at the photo in post 51 above.

I believe he has strong grounds to take action against Lena Dunham.

There was some discussion of this on another thread a day or so ago.

The sections of her book on "Barry" read as if they were edited by lawyers to level the accusation of rape while providing enough cover against any sort of libel/defamation of character lawsuit.

My guess/opinion on what's happened here is that the Barry that people are pointing to is the same "Barry" from the book. But he had no knowledge of/interaction with Dunham.

However, as a prominent campus Conservative Republican he probably caught HER attention at some point. Saying things she didn't like at rallies, writing things she didn't like in the campus paper or otherwise holding opinions and partisan/ideological affiliations that she didn't like. Basically offending her sensibilities and annoying her.

So, having very bad memories of him, she decided to use her book to destroy him by laying out enough information for people to identify him using various online tools while ALSO including a bunch of noise (purple boots, radio show, mustache) that would provide her with legal protection against a libel/defamation suit.

It certainly should. But there's a difference between should, and will.

Books like these are vetted by attorneys who specialize in libel and defamation of character and who work for the publisher. Now its certainly possible that they completely screwed up (perhaps not being familiar with the size and ideological makeup of Oberlin), but the chances are significantly better that they vetted the book, making changes where necessary to provide defense against lawsuits.

I think they did screw up BIGTIME because the Republican “Barry” who never even touched her is now being ID’d on Google due to Dunham’s description. It is obvious that this was an act of REVENGE by Dunham on “Barry” for the high crime of being a Republican at Oberlin. I hope “Barry” is pissed off enough to sue, Sue, SUE!!!

I had a very brief conversation with him in which he declined to talk about the matter. He has since been in contact with me to say that he has never met Dunham and had no relationship with her.

...it is difficult for me to believe that this is mere coincidence on Dunham’s part — it’s not like the name is “John” or “Bob”; “Barry” is not even among the 100 most common men’s names. It looks like malice to me.
