The first Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser has finally arrived.

"There has been an awakening — have you felt it? The dark side, and the light," says an ominous voice, just before Hans Solo's Falcon soars into view and the franchise's iconic theme song plays.

If they did bring in Palpatine, it’d be canon...sort of. I know (according to the ‘Star Wars’ comic books) that Palpatine made several clones of himself.

However, I doubt very much that Ian McDiarmid would want to play him again.

Yes. exactly!!!

Good point...he was the best thing, acting wise, from the prequels IMO.

If McDiarmid was to reprise the role, then there’s a 2% chance these films won’t be complete dogs.

“How about making films of the Jack Vance “Planet of Adventure” stories.”

Big Planet would make a good stand alone.

Jack Vance actually has a few connections to Star Wars. I know the term ‘Star Wars’ is in one of his books, and he helped storyboard artist David Russell get hired for Jedi.

I thought the storm troopers were all clones of Jango Fett who was played by a partly Māori actor.

An example of the latest generation of clones, maybe?

Once we were told the Clonetroopers were...clones...and became the first Stormtroopers, I always thought it would be an interesting, reflective moment in a later film if a one took off their helmet to reveal an aged, tired, and gray-haired clone.

Or Heinlein’s “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress”?

I'd be in line for that. And that one could be done as a fairly inexpensive independent film, like "Moon" was.

The villain, Grand Admiral Thrawn, even better than Vader, and actually pretty sympathetic.

Ewoks: Debbie Wasserman Schultz as a child.

Chewbacca: Debbie Wasserman Schultz all grown up.

Pretty much settles it....

C3PO talks, R2D2 does not.

Thus proving my point. It is the talking that turns people off.

The more I think about them, the less I like them.

The time travel reboot idea but it could have been interesting if handled well, which it wasn’t.

Random questions

What in the f*** is “Cyber Monday”?

Why the hell is Peter Pan being played by an adult woman, does Christopher Walken have a weird cosplay fetish?

Hasn’t Peter Pan been played by a woman (usually a gymnast) or am I confusing the roles played by Kathy Rigby, and Mary Lou Retton? Or Mary Martin?

“Cyber Monday”: Another “event” retailers created to further commercialize Christmas. Supposedly ther’d are “bargains” to be had via shopping online.

Peter Pan: Sandy Duncan, a wimmyn, played Peter Pan back in the 70s/early 80s. Not the first time this has been done.

Christopher Walken: Hmmm. Weird or not, he’s in the HOF for The Deer Hunter.

“Man Seeking Woman”, a new FXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX show looks ok. It premiers in 1/14, same as “Sunny”, which must be it’s lead-in.
