A petition launched by LifeSiteNews responding to a media campaign by gay activists to pressure TLC to cancel the Duggar family's highly popular TV show "19 Kids and Counting" has earned over 53,000 signatures in less than 24 hours, and is growing fast.
At the same time, a Tweetfest supporting the Duggars is scheduled to begin at noon today, using the hashtag #DefendtheDuggars. (Click here to find out more about the Tweetfest.)
LifeSiteNews' petition responds to a separate petition against the Duggars launched on Change.org, that in particular criticizes Michelle Duggar for opposing a "transgender" bill in Fayetteville and demands that TLC yank the Duggars from the air.
That petition has earned over 125,000 signatures since it was launched on Aug. 20. It received a significant boost this week after leading mainstream news outlets, including the Huffington Post and E!, highlighted the petition effort.
But while growth on the Change.org petition has slowed down in the past day, the petition in support of the Duggars is gaining steam, fast.

LifeSiteNews' petition also has big name stars backing it, including the Benham Brothers, whose own reality TV show on HGTV was cancelled after gay activists launched a campaign highlighting their traditional Christian views, and social media star and former Fox News contributer Steven Crowder.
The Benham Brothers have condemned the effort to remove the Duggars as being part of "the same intolerant agenda that attacked our family."
That agenda "is now demonizing one of the most wholesome families in America," said the brothers. "The Duggars have always been an example of Christian love for each other and society. Its time for Americans to stand with them against this latest manifestation of anti-Christian bullying."
The homosexual brigade will forever attack a soft target. Step up, like Chick-Fil-A, and slap them in the mouth and they go away.
I signed the petition yesterday but saw another article saying the Pro-sodomy crowd has 100,000 votes, you know, the tolerant crowd.
Just signed the petition. It’s at 79,900 now.
The lbs don’t realize this infringes their freedom of speech too! How stupid! I signed & shared all over the place last night.
I am so tired of the queers getting their panties in a bunch. You can tell most of them don’t have kids—they have time for this crap.
How many signatures can we get on a petition to cancel Rachel Maddow’s show, or Whoopi Goldberg’s “The View”?
Best to be careful what you ask for! LOL! :)
Homosexual activists just don’t seem to like ‘breeders’, do they? They sure like to bully them.
Sign it! Let’s humiliate the pink fascists!

What have the Duggars done that is offensive? I know my wife and I never will have 19 kids or more. I accept that, as a fact. But at the same time, it does get my curiousity how a family with so many children handles its day to day life.
Good. I and my Mom both signed it. I hope more people do.
What amazes me every time I read a news item about the Duggar family are the family photos. Who is the organizer and enforcer of getting everyone dressed very nicely, to the same place at the same time to get a family picture taken? I have 2 older brothers and a younger sister - we would have willingly stood in line to have all our teeth pulled out before we’d willingly submit to a family photo.

They believe in morals and rules not dictated by the state.
They believe in right and wrong.
That is not acceptable because it makes those who play outside the rules uncomfortable.
I would not want 19 kids. I do not adhere to their lifestyle—although it is some to aspire to.
But why would anyone care? Better yet, I cannot understand why anyone would watch or why any family would want to be watched. But to each his own.
Like I said, people are curious about how a family unlike their own makes it along. I know that I am not going to be a father of 19 children, and my wife and I are not going to have that many. But it’s fascinating to watch because a family does something that I don’t see in real life, they are extraordinary. I personally don’t care if their mom opposed some stupid rules allowing some person with man’s privates in a woman’s restroom or vice versa. That’s a very sick law idea. Kudos to the Duggars for having decent sense.
