Why are people making such a big deal of this? I for one am not interested in the fact she died. I am a Christian but taking ones life makes no difference to ones final abode. I hope she was born again but either way it is all over for her now. Why are you interested?

I'll give you a reasonably serious answer: if you attempt to form a philosophical basis for morality in the absence of religion, that road leads to nihilism. That's one of the more cogent things Friedrich Nietzsche said before they hauled him off to the rubber room. Do not dismiss it quite so easily.

And a less serious answer: that aside, I do have a list of people I'd be willing to help in an assisted suicide. Some of them don't know yet that they want to commit suicide, but they do, trust me, oh, yes they do... ;-)

Yea Sumner I do.

I have a family member who died by way of suicide. It tears a hole in the rest of the family who survives.

I also recently lost a child I “spiritually adopted” to suicide. I’m still grieving for him.

I can’t say suicide ends the pain for the person who dies but I can say this, it sure has hell causes pain for those left behind.

It never goes away.

So there you have your answer.

Suicide is a personal issue between an individual and their creator and I don’t buy into this whole “assisted suicide” baloney. Anybody can kill themselves any time they want, this woman did not have to go to a doctor to get a “prescription for suicide”. If she did any kind of research she would have found out that a small tank of nitrogen and a simple face mask would have done the deed quite well. What we got here instead is a highly suspicious act by the media and this woman of promoting not “assisted suicide” but “sanctioned suicide” and look who they are asking to sanction it: The government. Do you want the government making choices over who lives and dies? I sure as hell don’t which is why it should be highly illegal, let’s not even think of going there especially with this administration in power.

It's not difficult to commit suicide. No assistance needed. It's a slippery slope, involves doctors unnecessarily in what is a colossal conflict of interest.

I am in receipt of case file 63317. According to assembled reports, Citizen Worden, S. is currently hospitalized with a recurrent bone infection. Prognosis indicates that subject will be debilitated for an extended period and partial recovery is all that is expected. Included in the file are several flagged public communications hostile to well established policy positions considered essential for current operations. Recommend hospital personnel advise that reinfection is not only likely but unavoidable. Direct efforts to enlisting subject in self-termination protocol.
