If terminally ill people want to die, that’s a private decision.
If they want someone to kill them - that’s crossing the line.
Assisted suicide is murder. We’re not talking about a natural death here and people can tell the difference.
I don't.
But...
Only when the patient is of clear and sound mind, and the decision is entirely the Patient's
No wiggle room as to the meaning of the word "entirely." If B.J. Clinton is in the room, all bets are off.
“Because it doesnt exist. Its murder. If you kill yourself, then its suicide. Someone else kills you, its murder.”
I’m going to go deeper than that.
These people like Brittney, could not do it themselves. Had to get people to “help them”. To ease their minds that what they were doing was “okay” when deep inside they know it’s not. So basically others helped kill Brittney by giving her the drugs she used. YES she took them but people need not supply them to her, willingly.
As for someone paralyized, if they ask for it then it’s murder flat right out. They can’t do it to themselves so someone has to do the deed.
Now all this crap with Brittney is going to lead to forced killings. Welcome to Nazi Germany.
Because the “right to die” will quickly become the obligation to die, with families pushing their aged and infirmed to shuffle of the mortal coil more quickly.
“C’mon grandpa, why do you insist on suffering? The doctor can help you put an end to it. [And let us have our inheritances sooner, and undiminished by your medical bills.]”
Hey Sumner, if you don’t post responses you’ll get zotted, removed, cancelled. Enter the discussion and let us know where you are coming from. Kitties have been summoned.
Here are a few arguments:
(1) There are ways to make a terminally ill patient comfortable through hospice care, making “assisted suicide” unnecessary for patients who want to avoid pain.
(2) Already terminally ill patients are being pushed to give in, as if they have a duty to die. Legalizing “assisted suicide” is another push further toward euthanasia.
(3) Often suicide pills don’t result in a painless, peaceful death, anyway:

“My full name is Colin Sumner Worden and I grew up in Pittsford, New York - a town located in the suburbs of Rochester.
I’m currently a member of the Class of 2015 at Case Western Reserve University. I’m double majoring in Economics and Philosophy, in addition to being actively involved with campus organizations (I’m President of both my class and our campus’ Philosophy Society). The academic standards and my extracurricular involvement at Case have both been essential in developing my maturity and responsibility, which I will always grateful for.
I developed a keen interest in politics shortly after arriving at Case, and eventually I needed an outlet for my interest so I took to writing. My first blog - simple-politiks.com (I stopped paying for hosting so it’s shut down) - was created during the summer before my sophomore year at Case. At the time I knew almost nothing about politics so it was more of a learning experience than anything else. I would write posts and to my surprise people would actually write comments on them. I’d discuss/debate the various topics and thankfully I learned a great deal from those conversations.
Now, about a year and a half later, I’d like to take the next step and really ramp up my political commentary. I’ve created a YouTube channel entitled “The Virtual Politician” as well as a separate blog to accompany it. My goal is to encourage people of all ages to seriously think about and discuss the political issues of our time, because I believe very few things are more important in shaping our future.
So that’s where I’m coming from; I hope you enjoy my writings and videos!

Because you are asking someone to murder you.
You do not have the right to ask someone to end your life much less to pressure or force someone to do so.
It is a violation of their right and obligation not to murder which is the foundation on which all laws stand.
No one is saying that you may not kill yourself. BUT to force that burden on another is wrong.
A political blogger? That’s good. There’s not nearly enough of those.

The so-called "religious" argument is the only rational one.
One does not give oneself life, therefore one has no authority to take it.
Moreover, if this sort of behavior is universalized, it destroys social discipline, every kind of long term incentive to endurance, and all familial bonds.
If pain and fear justify suicide, who can justly tell a teenage girl who has been humiliatingly dumped by her current infatuation that she should not kill herself?
Her "life is ruined" and "the pain is unbearable" - she "has no friends" and her family "doesn't understand" what she's going through and "do not care" about her.
The fact that this unfortunate woman is being called "a hero" for giving up and embracing self-annihilation demonstrates how sick Western society has become.
Our culture, by condoning such self-serving acts, is itself committing suicide and will be either replaced by people who actually value life or it will vanish.
“Theres not nearly enough of those.”
But they make interesting targets.

And I warned him too. A college student looking for reactions without getting involved.
Okay he’s new here.... Let’s explain to him how to respond.

Words To LIVE By!
Jeb Bush, too! That POS. Do NOT vote for that man. EVER!
If it’s the college kids then he’s used to blogs and waiting for comments. He may not understand that FR runs quickly.
