Furious over the alleged rape of his 14-year-old daughter by a 45-year-old married man, the father called the man to his house on Friday night, treated him to dinner and then tortured him to death, police said. He then went to the police station, surrendered himself and gave police a detailed account on how he tortured and murdered the man.
The 36-year-old reportedly burned the mans genitals using heated tongs and then strangled him to death. The incident was reported from Northeast Delhis Khajuri Khas area on Saturday.
Based on the mans statement, police said the deceased, a medicine supplier, had allegedly raped the mans minor daughter two months ago. The father did not approach police fearing a bad name for his daughter(continued)

Let this be a lesson for the other rapists out there. When the victims father invites you to dinner, you would be wise not to accept the invitation. I'm going to guess the rapist was a relative or one of the father's friends, and didn't suspect the father had found out about the rape.

Unfortunately, children often often often lie about this. It is a get home free card. This man could have been entirely innocent. Even if guilty, this man was murdered without his God-given right to a trial by a jury of his peers, and the statements of the daughter given critical examination by an impartial police detective — if such a thing exists anymore given the folly of the Mondale act. This father should face the full consequences of his actions. So flame away all you knee jerk reactionaries who think children are incapable of lying and stirring up much mischief. (There is also the real possibility that the daughter is entirely innocent of any wrongdoing, and the father wanted this man dead for reasons of his own knowing how crazy and unjust the justice system has become, he cynically decided to take advantage.) Color me skeptical. When do we relearn the lesson of Salem?

Hope the guy was guilty. I recently watched a movie about a couple that kidnapped and terribly tortured a man to death who murdered their child or something. Of course it’s revealed in the end the man was innocent.

I would have simply shot him and quietly buried him in my pasture late at night.
No reason to subject your daughter to the publicity.

You do realize this happened in India, not the US? The Mondale Act has no application there. The people are in no wise responsible for “the lesson of Salem.”
The facts laid out before us, for our information, and from which we can draw conclusions are that a rape occurred, the rapist was murdered by the girl’s father. The father confessed to murder and placed himself before the judicial system of his location.
I like knowing rapists are punished. I’ll let the laws of India and the Punjab deal with the father.
You exercised a bit of a knee-jerk reaction yourself with your judgment and condemnation of the posters.
