Dish TV has eliminated a number of stations (unfortunately, MSNBC was not one of them).
From their website:
"Our contract with Turner Networks (Turner) has expired and they have removed CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, CNN en Español, Headline News, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies from DISHs channel lineup
At DISH, we believe the customer should always come first. Thats why we work hard to bring you the best programming at a fair value. Learn more about our commitment to you."
Should I switch to DirectTV?
ATT Uverse was maxed out at 786KB in NOLA because I was at the end of the line.
I didn’t care that much because they charged $19 a month.
Then they upped it to $34 bucks so I switched to COX.
Getting 25-50 mb
Plus, who else is going to give you Bonanza six days a week?
“If they dump CNN are they keeping MSNBC? Cant see how that channel survives.”
It survives because it is heavily subsidized by the Democratic Party. Oh, in a perfectly legal way...
Surprised they didn’t try to pull this a couple weeks back— TBS had baseball playoffs on...
Only $140!!!??? Cant believe people flush that much down the drain each month. Think of all the good that could be done with it instead of supporting thefilth and liberalism that has destroyed our nation.
YW...have to check them everyday...some of the older links have been removed. I use the Downloadhelper addon in Firefox to keep what I want.
Nope! How about NOT paying for TV? Dumped DirecTV three plus years ago, best decision we ever made.
Our TV consists of a $15 home made HDTV Antenna (made using coat hangers, some wire, and following a Video on YouTube) to pull in some 62 HDTV stations in the Chicago area, a Roku device and a NetFlix account for $8.
DirecTV was trying to charge me $100 for their "entry level" package, that's when I picked up the phone and told 'em to get their shit outta my house.
Tell Pay-TV to go to hell. You'll be amazed how much more FREE TIME you have for other, more important things like family, hobbies, recreation time, and oh yeah -- have some extra money in your pocket too!
She’s paying it to Direct tv.
Yeah, what SSS Two said.
I’ve been with DirecTv for 16 years. They have been good service provider IMO.
One of our sons has no antennae cable or dish. Subscribes to netflix, Hulu Plus and amazon. Less than half of what I pay direct.
Streaming and internet are the future and you can dart now if you check it out and like the options.

“Cancellation Fee Varies If you do not fulfill your Programming Agreements, DIRECTV may charge you a pro-rated fee of up to $480.”
Relax, it’s temporary. Dish negotiates rough and isn’t afraid to make the other guy blink in order to get the best deal for its subscribers.
Only temporarily.
A lot of presumptuous jerks on here. Happens every time there’s something about cable TV. I don’t care for the NFL, but when someone posts an article on some event involving games, players, crimes, etc., I don’t jump on here and tell everybody how stupid they are or what year I quit watching.
As the philosopher said: let them that don’t want none, find pleasure in not getting any. (and then mind your own business)
First, they came for the liberal news station, CNN... But I’m not a liberal, so I didn’t do anything.
What is this “TV” device ?
Going on my 20th year, now ? A little less, and MUCH happier.
Standard stars I often don’t recognize now.
Lol... We love our entertainment and the devices that bring it to us. Everybody is an expert. It’s 1000 percent more complicated these days than in 1975 say. Three networks and maybe you could one of the new video tape machines for $1000. My Grandparents would think I was a rocket scientist if they saw all the stuff and computers I have and work on.
Sent you a mail.

Former proud Canadian? Are you UN-proud now or have you moved out of Canada? I SUPPOSE you mean that, even though you had to leave that wonderful country, you are STILL proud to call yourself a Canadian.
Or maybe I'm wrong.
I took a lovely tour of the Maritime Provinces. LOVED'EM. I'd go back in a New York minute!
Dittoes on Roku. Incredible array of free channels and you can add the pay ones as you need ‘em. I’d also recommend getting Amazon Prime ($100 for a year). A HUGE number of free movies and entire runs of TV series, all the latest releases on pay-per-view, a new free music service ala Rhapsody ... and free shipping for most all of your Amazon purchases. Incredible value.
Speaking of values, I ordered MLBTV for Roku this year. Heartily recommended. EVERY baseball game, EVERY team. And if you miss the game live, you can always watch it later. For $25 a month, that’s a — as they say in baseball — steal!
