It so happened that an 11-year-old boy came home from school one day and told his parents that the first European white people who came to America were so mean that they tried to kill the Indians by giving them blankets with smallpox germs. The boy’s father tried to use this as a teachable moment. He asked his son to think if that made sense, even if the first white settlers were that evil. How would they avoid getting smallpox themselves? The boy then let it be known that the American Constitution was written by the Iroquois Indians. The father informed his son that the Iroquois did not have an alphabetic written language, so they could not have written our Constitution. The boy thought about the smallpox contagion problem but would not be dissuaded from his conviction that Iroquois Indians wrote the Constitution.

It also happens that this boy is a direct descendant of those same earliest colonials he had been taught in the public schools to despise. The miseducated schoolboy (now older and wiser) is a 14th-generation American. He descends from an Englishman who, with his wife and eight children, in 1638 sailed on the Susan and Ellen to the land that came to be called New England. The boy’s forbears established the oldest privately deeded homestead in the United States in Windsor, Connecticut. Let us hearken back to that fateful moment on the rough dock in Braintree, England and picture Joseph turning to his wife Mary, as harried husbands do when embarking with a large brood on a lengthy journey: “Honey, didst thou remember to pack the smallpox blankets?”

Conservative favorite Dr. Ben Carson has joined the criticism of the new AP History curriculum that many say teaches kids to hate the USA. Carson said that the course was so anti-American that it would make "most people" want to "sign up for ISIS."

Early this year news broke of a new Advanced Placement History test (APUSH) that cut out America's founding fathers and prioritizes America's faults.

Little or nothing about Martin Luther King. A whole section of slavery and how evil we are. A whole section about Japanese internment camps. Most smallpox transmission to indians was purely accidental. More often than not the disease was passed to the indians through casual contact and legitimate gifts and trade items.

I think that probably every weapon works best where there is an abundance of targets. The cities would be the optimum target for any biological weapon. The cities are filled with Democrat voters.
The Democrat leaders do not inherently like the Democrat voters. They see Democrat voters as mere tools. The greatest fear that the Democrat leaders have is that there are/will-be too many people on this planet. Would they use biological weapons against their own voters? At various times smallpox was used as a way to dispose of Indians, as they lacked any immunity to it, and our Army did give several tribes smallpox infected blankets.

I have no problem with this, considering what many Indians did to many white settlers, many of which were my ancestors and cousins.

Atrocities work both ways.

I descend from Vermont settlers who were captured in Royalton and Sharon, Vermont, hauled to Quebec and kept or sold to the French as slaves.

Several of the siblings of my ancestor were killed by the Indians on the way north for not keeping up or making noise.

One, a baby was grabbed by the ankles and had his brains dashed out on a rock. Two others who were older were tomahawked and scalped as they died.

And yes, many ideas used in the Constitution did come from the Iroquois nation, which was a confederation of six Indian nations.

Too bad more people don't know the real history of this country.

Many savage acts were committed by both Indians and Whites.

We all need to know about it, but other than that, get over it.

I took indian beading at out local museum and was fortunate enough to have a full blooded Seneca Indian from the Turtle tribe as a teacher...Virginia Snow.

She was disappointed in the present tribes...saying the kids were not disciplined, were drunkards and druggies. None like to work. She also said all the good ones go to Canada.

Wonderful lady...spoke the native language and was assisting the tribes in the history of their nation. She passed several years back.

Stampeding the lemmings is a Democrat tactic. I expect that Democrat leaders know how to panic Democrat voters from years and years of experience. Introducing multiple disease lines in Democrat controlled cities is a winning strategy for Democrats urging greater spending and bigger government.

Since dead Democrat voters usually turn out in record numbers for their demographic, several thousand dead is not a big dent in the vote.
