Ah, vegetarians. I guess the bacteria lived because it was eaten uncooked.
From Google:
Shinella kummerowiae sp. nov., a symbiotic bacterium isolated from root nodules of the herbal legume Kummerowia stipulacea.
Bacterial strain CCBAU 25048(T) was isolated from root nodules of Kummerowia stipulacea grown in Shandong province of China.
From China, not surprising from the country that brought us leprosy and the Bubonic plague.

A routine inspection conducted June 9 showed a lack of unsanitary conditions, including evidence of vermin activity, improper food storage, and inadequate hygiene, according to an OC Health Department report. Wha ....????? Huh?

In a statement released Friday, Anita Walker, a marketing executive for True Food parent company Fox Restaurant Concepts, said the 14-hour cleaning effort was designed to ensure the safety of our restaurant and make us ever more vigilant about food safety.
Illegal aliens are the source of this Anita honey-child. Until your state addresses the issue objectively, expect more illnesses and outbreaks at your Birkenstock-infested greasy spoon and other CA establishments.

Shigellosis is extremely uncomfortable - it’s dysentery. Usual vector is human fecal contamination. Wash yer hands, folks.

Had shigella once. I never want to run into it again.

I have a cousin who started vegetarian, then went vegan, now has added gluten-free. *shrug* I don’t care what people eat, or don’t, as long as they don’t preach about it (and she doesn’t). But the “raw diet” people.... yeah... that’s one I don’t understand aTall.

We were able to react quickly and open again because we plan and practice for contingencies like this because any public setting where people gather can contribute to the spread of illness these days, including us, and our guests and employees health and welfare remain our top priority, stated Walker. If it was your top priority, it wouldn't have happened.
