I have spent a little time compiling links to threads about the Ebola outbreak in the interest of having all the links in one thread for future reference.
Please add links to new threads and articles of interest as the situation develops.
Thank You all for you participation.
One of the Romanian newspapers has an article on a suspected Romanian citizen who’s returned from Nigeria with Ebola symptoms.
Worth reading, imho. Monotreme has done some good write-ups on infectious diseases in the past.
Thanks. Do you have a link? It would be good to have here, along with the rest.
You’re Welcome! (It needed to be done, imho).
It’s in Romanian:
Thanks for doing this! Please add me to your ping list.
And India isn’t playing around:

Toronto case tests negative thank goodness.
Thanks! Admittedly, I can’t read Romanian, but perhaps there is a FReeper who can translate the article out there.
Interesting bulletin board pic with that article.
“Ebola virus: Liberia health system ‘falling apart’
The charity Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) has told the BBC that Liberia’s medical services have been completely overwhelmed by the Ebola outbreak.
The MSF co-ordinator in Liberia said official figures were “under-representing the reality”, and that the health system was “falling apart”.”
Many of the suspicious cases seem to have tested negative. Let’s hope that trend continues!
bttt mark
There’s a certain gallows humor in some of the AFrican tweets.
‘Ebola attacks white blood cells, thank goodness (African country) are safe!’
etc.
I will not be pinging this thread unless it is something earth shattering, but will ping others which are posted independently and will add links to them to this thread.
Anybody know of any good preventative medicine articles on how to train the public in good hygiene? Test trials of using luminescent fluids to track where we unconsciously place our hands?
Otherwise, the one that got away could be a problem.
I don’t know of any off hand. However, if you have a UV flashlight (handy for spotting scorpions, bedbugs, and other critters as well as human emissions), check the vegetable oils in your cupboard. It is likely one or more of them will fluoresce under the light. A little dab can go a long way...
Hey! That's Ray's cyst...or something like that.
Thank you for posting these, and also for the many pings since this situation developed.
