A war veteran who builds furniture in his garage and gives it to military families in need could be forced to shut down the saws.
A homeowners association is telling Dennis Kocher he needs to close up shop after years of doing business, or he could be fined between $100 and $1,000.

Strange they’ve suddenly decided to go after him 10 years later. Unless there has been a new rule added to the HOA rule book, then they probably don’t have a leg to stand on if he wanted to pursue it.
Bottom line, NEVER EVER move into an HOA.

They should get elected to the board and make the COMPLAINER’s life a living hell...
no... that would be wrong.

I think there is a loony in the HOA, that is behind this, and probably because, there is a furniture business or something like that.
Have ya noticed that it is becmoning a trend, for these worthless HOA’s to start any kind of trouble, with a vet, for any reason that crawls inside their alimentary canal?

Great now with your guys help I managed to hijack my own Thread!!!! ;-)I like to think my neighbor's cars won't fit in the garage because of all the food, guns and ammo he has stored.

I agree with you. There is also the possibility that someone might be trying to sell a nearby home and finding it difficult with all the noise being generated. I would not want to live next door to someone making racket day in and day out. I laud the vet for what he’s doing, but if he’s run afoul of the rules by which he agreed to abide, then he’s in the wrong.

Can not understand why anyone would buy a house that is part of a Homeowners Association. Homeowners Association ate run by little tin generals who expect their sl;aves to bow down before their commands.

Maybe there’s a new HOA board and their lawyer advised them to shut this thing down to avoid future problems with other noxious odors. It’s only a matter of time before some dude from Pakistan moves in next door and holds a weekly goat roast on his front lawn.

Wonder why they jumped his bones after ten years. Makes no sense when his neighbors support his activities. If I had to guess, I'd say one of his super supportive neighbors got sick and tired of the racket and ratted him out.

Another reason why people form HOA communities ...

I 100% agree about not moving into someplace with an HOA. If the neighbors wrote letters praising the guy then I would be looking at somebody new to the neighborhood.

There are a great many here on FR who would be most disappointed in the truth. I dont own a 4 wheel drive, I havent a bunker of any type, I have under 5000 rd.s of ammo on hand [I wont say how much under ;-). I get to the range once a month. I dont spend weekends out in the woods playing war and so on...... Yeah, that's what I tell people too. ;~)
