Just what is the point of this self indulgent vanity?
I was wondering what was holding the moon up. It's filled with helium? If you punch a hole in it to get to the helium, won't it deflate and zip all over space before falling back to earth?

Basing stations to get to the next whatever...
“To explore strange new worlds...”
Well, 22000 tons of hardware went somewhere.
The moon is as good a place as any. :)
There is not one single piece of credible evidence that the moon landings were faked. Everything the conspiracy theorists point to as “evidence” are easily explained by someone who is not scientifically illiterate.
If you watch film of Neil Armstrong setting his canteen down, you can see Tang dribbling from the loose cap that he forgot to tighten down, yet if they were actually on the Moon, there is no gravity to make it dribble.
they were given some of the moon rocks for analysis, and in 72 while the Corning/Elmira valley was in the process of flooding over they shipped them here to Watkins Glen for safe keeping
i know this because my father was one of the men guarding them night and day with shotguns until the flood receded and a safer place for them could be found
they were only told this after the rocks had been returned to Corning Inc
Today’s generation is so inept and stands in pale compared to that one, it’s no wonder this generation would wish to deny this accomplishment.

Back in 1968, this kind of stuff would be printed as fact in SCIENCE AND MECHANICS MAGAZINE.
I remember their attempt to prove that Uri Gargarin never went into space, but it all was filmed on a sound stage in the USSR.
I got to stay up and watch the landing and the first steps.
At some point in my childhood I have a memory of a group of kids being able to handle a moon rock about the size of a thick thumb. We passed it around. It was white gray and had little darker specks. Is that a wrong memory or did they let some specimens get handled?
Whitey on the moon - gil scott-heron
run time = 00:01:29 minutes
Gilbert "Gil" Scott-Heron (1949 2011) was an American soul and jazz poet, musician, and author, known primarily for his work as a spoken word performer in the 1970s and '80s. His own term for himself was "bluesologist". His music, most notably on Pieces of a Man and Winter in America in the early 1970s, influenced and helped engender later African-American music genres such as hip hop and neo soul. He released Whitey on the Moon on his 1st album, A New Black Poet - Small Talk at 125th and Lenox, © 1970.

Those Kennedy’s would have done anything to keep Chappaquiddick off the front pages.
I recently saw a You Tube video debunking those who claim the moon landings were faked. The guy’s argument was that in the 1960s and 70s there was no real technology to have faked the photographs from the moon, but there was the capability to fly there. We are so used to realistic computer generated photos and videos that we assume that capability was available way back then. Digital photos were decades away when we landed on the moon and the computing power available at NASA in those days would be dwarfed by even today’s video game machines.
