Hours after a Mississippi family reassured the public Tuesday that their story of a little 3-year-old disfigured girl getting kicked out of a Jackson KFC was true, the fast food giant confirmed that two different investigations proved it was a hoax....
But KFC, who pledged $30,000 to the girls family for her care, easily debunked the tall tale, finding, for example, that Mullins and little Victoria never set foot in a Jackson KFC on May 15, much less were kicked out.
One investigation was carried out by KFC, while a third party did a more thorough review.
Neither revealed any evidence that the incident occurred and we consider the investigation closed, KFC said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.
The family had earlier posted on a Facebook page dedicated to tracking the girls recovery that the story was not a hoax.
It is not over until KFC releases a statement, the family wrote.
But after KFC closed the case, the family dismantled the Facebook page and could not be reached for comment.
And the gofundme.com campaign page for the girl was suspended and refunds offered to those who had donated, CNN reported.
"In lieu of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the 'Victoria's Victories' online fundraising effort, GoFundMe has temporarily suspended the campaign until the full truth is made clear," ....
KFC says it will donate $30,000 to little Victoria, despite the fact the investigation found the ejection claim to be a hoax.
The Laurel Leader-Call broke the story of the hoax Monday night after unnamed sources gave some of the damning details the KFC third party investigation had found.
What is not in dispute is what happened to little Victoria: She was mauled in April by three of her grandfathers pit bulls during a visit to his home....

The rednecks had pit bulls around a child. I question anyone that stupid.
Do not fall for the sob stories that these grifters post online, hoping to get cash. Usually, these crooks use children to get their ill-gotten gains. Help those you know need help in your family and in your church. If everyone did that, these hoaxes would decrease.
Was the grandmother who did this hoax the pit bulls owner’s wife?
Pit bulls... again.
The family using this little girls misfortune are the definition of PWT.
Grandpa Col.Fried Chicken is like the southern Santa Clause to the lying pit bull redneck con artists. Hope KFC structured the donation so only the girl benefits from it.
This is a bizarre story. It seemed credible because there were newspaper articles where reporters claimed they had even contacted the manager, they had names, etc. But it turned out that the particular KFC branch had closed some time ago, that the little girl was actually in the hospital when the incident supposedly happened, etc.
Definitely grifters, and you feel bad that the little girl, on top of everything else, has a family like this. I think it’s good of KFC to provide the $30,000, but I hope somebody files charges against granny or otherwise she’ll probably spend the rest of her life living on the fraudulent exploitation of her grand-daughter’s injuries. What a creep.
I was suspicious from the get-go. Who eats at KFC anymore?
Can’t someone be charged with theft by deception?
I have the white trash granny in mind. She doesn’t look like a stranger to the clink.
Not since one time in the mid 90s, maybe.
I believe you are right.
If you wanted to help the girl because she got mauled, thats fine. But don’t help her just because she supposedly got her feelings hurt.
People were not donating because they wanted to help her. They were donating to protest the “bullying” by KFC.
There’s a sucker born every minute.
It makes you wonder if the author of the original story was in on the scam —
Did the crack journalist even bother to ask the granny grifter to show her the receipt for the tea and potatoes???
Where was this journalist when this original interview took place???
That would explain a lot, wouldn’t it? Guilty conscience. Invent a story to illicit donations to avoid doing the right thing and paying for the child’s medical bills themselves.
That breed should be outlawed. I don’t care how many advocates they have.
Everyone who fell for this story should go to KFC and buy a bucket of chicken for their penance.
Yum. Extra crispy. Mashed potatoes and gravy for the sides. Carb heaven.
KFC has been more than decent about this, but I hope yhey have some way to make sure he money goes to the little girl and no to her crooked kinfolks, who should be in jail.
I would hope they would get a visit from child welfare.
It would not surprise me if they deliberately put that toddler in there with those dogs so they could use her injuries for a fundraiser — but the injuries turned out to be worse than they expected.
I have not heard from or seen a mother or father — are they in the picture anywhere???
I believe so.
Yep — she is the exwife of the pitbull owner
