The above phone number is a scam at the very least or a phone spoofing scheme at it's worst.
If you receive a phone call from this number Do Not Answer It!
Do Not Call It! No one will answer and if it is indeed a spoofing call it's possible some one is trying to trap your info.
I have received several of these calls and no message is ever left. If you can block it on your phone do so. My service provider is conducting an investigation and will be blocking this number for me.
I made the mistake of answering it the first time.
Lastly, after an extensive reverse directory search, I have determined that the call originates from Jersey City NJ yet the person making these calls lives in California.
I have what I believe to be accurate information about this person including SS# and DL# along with DOB. I'm working to verify this.
It's a woman with an accent.
Agreed. Yet the info I have is a woman born in 1967 and lives in Foster City Ca.
I'm trying to verify the SS#.
lol
If you call that number in my area code you get a plumbing company.
The phone rings at my house 10-12 times per day. Maybe one or two calls are legit. The rest go like this.
Hello. Silence. HELL-O!
Recorded message finally starts:
The government has determined you are eligible... click as I hang up.
or
The president has enabled it so that you may refinanc... click.
or
As the cost of electricity is soaring, solar... click.
or
As a veteran you should know... click
etc
I never answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize. If they leave a message and are legit I’ll call back.
Then I'm definitely not picking up!
Probably trying to get a donation out of me. Yeah, that'll happen.
The numbers below are all part of an online pharmacy scam. I don’t answer them anymore. I’ve stored them under a delightful reference to their deep love for their mothers so I recognize the call when it comes in.
(561) 463-8325
(931) 277-5866
(888) 828-8754
(214) 447-7706
Your cellphone has been infected with spyware.
When would be a good time for me to call back? ☺
Here’s a very easy way to screen your calls, my daughter told us about because we were getting a lot of scam calls: Just email:
www.donotcall.gov.
I solved that problem. Had a poor coverage area any how.
I read somewhere that the poor guy that owned that number had his phone ring off the hook, and as a consequence, a law was passed that all movie/TV/etc phone numbers start with 555.
Funny thing, there are a few legit 555 numbers and boy, do they have a hard time convincing people.
Didn’t you get the memo? You are the last person in the USA with a hard phone line in their home (instead of using their cell).
So you have a bunch of telemarketers backed up waiting to talk to you! There is only one fish left in the barrel.
That doesn't stop them, just slows them up a bit.

Woops. Sorry. Didn’t see your update.
800notes.com is one of my favorite sites for checking out scam phone numbers and as a result, I’ve blocked many scammers’ numbers. Apparently you’re not alone in getting calls from this number: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-201-273-7275
Ha ... you beat me. My bad for not reading the whole thread.
