Spending too much time sitting still can increase the risk of some cancers, heart disease and diabetes, new research has shown.
Every extra two hours spent sitting was associated with a 10% increased chance of developing cancer of the womb lining in women, while bowel and lung cancer risk was raised by 8% and 6% respectively.
The effect appeared to be unrelated to how much exercise people took when not sitting. This suggests that even in people who are generally physically active, sitting down for too long can increase cancer risk.

I am so relieved.
Life will kill you.
Poor old Bob Ross died from cancer at age 52, nineteen years ago. How much sitting did he do?
Standing up a lot makes more health risks actually.
Must have been the oil paint fumes, or the paint thinner, or...
I think lying down is the only option here.

Peel me a grape!
