People joke about old TV shows and how silly they were, etc. but I would take old TV shows anyday over today’s trash. Today’s TV pushes homosexuality and rely on jokes revolving around sex. Old TV shows, written as they were in an era of censorship, weren’t allowed to joke about homosexuality and sex matters at all. They had to have actual plots with story lines.

I saw him on Broadway acting in Hairspray. Pretty good.

I remember that at the end of each Leave It to Beaver episode Ward would explain the moral to the story. Hugh Beaumont, who played Ward, was an ordained Methodist minister.

sorry shut it down.. sucked

My brother played in a band called the “Cleavers”.
We both remember the episode in which Mrs. Cleaver told Ward that he was a little bit hard on the Beaver last night.
We still laugh about that one.
Yeah, I know that was not nice.
But we laughed anyway.
To: forgotten man
Yep, I remember that too, when Ward would impart lessons to Beaver.
It’s such a far cry from today’s TV, in which outrageous behavior of various kinds is pushed and celebrated as comedy.

The Beaver comes on 8 to 9 weekday mornings on ME TV here in the Pittsburgh area. It’s like watching home movies of my childhood.
