The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.

No matter what, you won’t be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!

NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.

Travel mercies for you. You can always stop by this shotgun shack if it's on your way (I think I have brownies made). You know the password. ;)

What a great way to spend Memorial Day. Our grand children are all grown expcept one. She is entering puberty (sigh) and has no interest in the garden anymore-just electronic games. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

So hire a cute teenage boy to do chores in the garden. She'll be out there. I raised daughters... I know these things. ;)

Hubby had some sort of radishes that he swears had “cabbage” in the name. He planted them expecting cabbage, but he got a bunch of long cylindrical radishes instead. They make a good catch crop even if they do bolt.

That’s great to hear. I’ve been meaning to plant some lemon balm, but keep getting side tracked. Basil is also supposed to be good to repell mosquitos too.

It took me over six/seven months to get this initial visit after applying for my benefits. I have had good feed back from those I know who go there. My wife says the people at work have only given her good positive comments about this particular clinic. Looks like I lucked up with the VA service where I live. Even the people across the street at the hospital were nothing but very kind and helpful. No long waits and in and out in a hurry.

I have been at a couple of Doctors offices here where there are 30 or so people waiting to see a doctor and a visit takes hours and hours!

Yes. I just happened to stop in one the way home from the farm several years ago. They get all their bulk seed in 1 - 5 lb bags. It is fresh every year.

I think I’ll get my bean seeds there next year. They sell 1/4, 1/2 and 1 cup scoops. That is a lot of seeds for the price.

Wow! I love everything about your garden. I love the gravel, and am trying to get more gravel into our landscape.

Not my garden. It's Eric's. I just posted the photo for him.

He does have a pretty garden. Mine is all scruffy.

Nope. It's scruffy and rough around the edges. Just like me. I like it that way. ;)
