It is sad that so many on FR lack the ability to think subjectively. Being brainwashed by the MSM doesn't explain it all , they must have been programed much earlier to hate Russians, and don't know it.

Those of us who are old enough to remember events during the cold war have a pretty deep distrust of anyone with Soviet roots. I could give you several reasons why.

However, Yeltsin did appoint him head of the FSB, the KGB's successor organization, in 1998.
