"With the remains in their possession, the team disguised themselves as fishermen and drove into the mountains, stopping at a cliff along a small stream. There, in a spot screened by trees, they lit two campfires. One was to make soup. The other, to further burn the remains.
Gumenyuk has called the second cremation a waste of a can of gasoline, but the remains were finally burned to ashes. They collected these in a rucksack, which Gumenyuk took onto the cliff and opened up into the wind. With that, one of historys greatest monsters disappeared, a brown cloud of dust in the wind.
Today, Gumenyuk is 73-years-old and retired from the KGB. He is the only surviving member of the team that disposed of Hitlers remains and the only living person who knows where the ashes were spread. Still afraid the peaceful woods would become a pilgrimage site, he has vowed to take his secret to his grave. Despite the large amounts of money hes been offered to reveal the location and the attention hes gotten for what he did, Gumenyuk doesnt seem to think his task was all that special. Twenty secondsand job was done, he told The Sun last year. It was just the last flight of the Führer. [H/T American Digest]

Burned supposedly
It takes a crematorium over 2 hours and a temperature approaching 2000 degrees to reduce a human body to ash. This guy did it with a campfire and a couple of gallons of gas?
That brings a smile to my face every time I think of it...
After they slaughter the entire wedding party...just brilliant!
Ok, that solves Hitler. Now, where’s Hoffa?
Ditto. The version I’ve heard in documentaries (and probably from this same guy) is that the original incineration (which was in a pit just outside the bunker, using gasoline, while Goebbels in full uniform gave the heil-hitler salute; the next day he poisoned his wife, children, and himself, and the bodies were similarly partially incinerated) wasn’t too thorough. The first burial spot was the pit itself.
The Red Army took the city, and people who knew where the remains were spilled the beans (under compulsion). The Soviets wanted verification that Hitler was indeed dead. The remains of Hitler and Eva Braun were exhumed, autopsied to verify the identities, Eva Braun was found to have been pregnant at the time of her death, and the remains were reburied in a different spot. Then a short while later they were re-exhumed, incinerated, and the ashes were scattered.
A chunk of what the Soviets believed was Hitler’s cranium was sent to Stalin at some point (along with other trophies, such as some of Hitler’s paintings and other belongings), either after the first exhumation, or after the second one. The fragment was DNA tested, sez the wiki-wacky, and turned out to be a woman (Eva Braun?).
The problem with disposal by cremation is, a crematorium is needed to raise the temperature enough to destroy the bones and teeth. The alternative way to do it is to burn at a lower temperature for a much longer period of time.
Did Hitler flee bunker with Eva to Argentina, have two daughters and live to 73?

He didn’t kill himself in the bunker. Too many nazi conflicting stories there. And you can’t trust the commie bastards either.
I don’t care much about what happened to his body.I’m far more interested in what I recently read for the first time...that Stalin had Patton murdered. That’s the first time such a possibility even occurred to me (naive little me) but it certainly seems very possible that that’s what happened.
I've sort of made it a tradition.

It was just a stupid auto accident; as much as I love Patton, if Stalin had wanted Patton dead, Patton would have been dead.
sidebar, Stalin called off two attempts on Hitler:

That photo shows the poor bastard who was kept around as a decoy, iow, to draw fire. He was executed I think.
So,given the state of affairs at that time,Stalin would have sent a KGB agent to walk up to Patton...from in front of behind...and shoot him in the head? Do you recall that incident in London...I think it was in the 70's or 80's...where a Bulgarian dissident was murdered by KGB agents who used an umbrella designed to propel poison pellets into a person? The guy said that someone bumped into him at a Tube station,"accidentally" poked him the ribs with his umbrella and,viola...a few hours later he felt ill.And not long after that he was dead.
Didn’t Jay Carney tell us that after Obama killed him with his bare hands , the body was washed and promptly dumped into the sea (as we are told is the Islamic tradition)?
Meanwhile our President HONORED Osama Bin Laden with a respectful muslim burial ceremony AND the foreign national Boston Marathon bomber was secretly (location undisclosed but the event was acknowledged) buried on US soil even though his parents wanted the body returned to his homeland.
How are Saddam Hussein’s decoys doing these days?
Hitler was killed in a 1944 assassination plot. It’s just that no one wanted the war to be over, so Germany was forced on with a Hitler double as its nominal leader for the rest of the war.
