Luke. Leia. Han. Chewie. Artoo. Threepio. All present and accounted for as StarWars.com unveiled the official cast of "Star War: Episode VII" Tuesday.
Here's the full release:
The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.
Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on Dec. 18, 2015.
While original stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford had dropped hints that they would be reprising their roles for the new chapter, which takes place around 35 years after "Return of the Jedi," nothing was confirmed until today. The trio will be joined by longtime castmates Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).
New additions include Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver, who recently appeared together in the Coen brothers' 2013 folk music drama "Inside Llewyn Davis." Also onboard: Andy Serkis (best known as Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy), Domhnall Gleeson ("About Time",) and the legendary Max von Sydow ("The Exorcist"). Fresh faces John Boyega ("Attack the Block") and Daisy Ridley (who has appeared in just a handful of BBC dramas) round out the cast.
Ew... it’s Zero’s Pajama Boy.
Gadzooks! How could anything... go... wrong?

Adam Driver, never heard of him.
So he’s gonna be a hipster douchebag Sith Lord or something? Egads.
Well it couldn’t be worse than Emo-kin Skywhiner, I guess.
Max von Sydow at least elevates any material given to him. I just wish he was playing Ming again...
Yeah he’s a hell of an actor.
I presume he’ll be villain like in Flash Gordon and the excellent film “Minority Report”.
I will, for sure.
I have it on DVD; will have to go watch for it.
I did like the Darth Maul character, though. Very evil-looking dude, and well-crafted.
Having spent a good number of my years in Taijutsu and Tae Kwon Do, I can appreciate a good martial artist when I see one, and the guy that played that character (Ray Park) was amazing.
The fight scene between him and Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor is classic.
Hamill looks like a kid in that picture.
He was in “The Big Red One” also, with Lee Marvin, around that time period...
Don’t remember him doing too many other movies, though.
There was that terrible movie about his searching for a red corvette that was stole from him.
I never got the impression that he could act.
He just got lucky with Star Wars which didn't require much acting talent.
Darth Maul WAS very evil looking, but I thought they overdid the “evil” and killed him far too soon.
“...a red corvette that was stole from him....”
I don’t remember that one at all.
The rook is strong with this one
Corvette Summer....starred with a younger Annie Potts from Designing women fame. Not great but not awful movie. That was my impression but I saw it ages ago now so your mileage may vary.
“...killed him far too soon...”
Yeah, they could have brought him back at least into another episode before offing him. Much more menacing as a villain than Darth Vader..
I thought the scene of him on the desert speeder was cool too, when the camera zoomed in on his face. Very well done; and the scene when the elevator doors opened on the flight deck, and he was standing there with the Hoodie on, ready to kick ass...
Very dramatic. He was a GREAT “Bad Guy” character, and one of my all-time favorites.
What a kick-ass fight scene, though.
Great fight scene

Thanks!!
Ok, now I remember the name, but never saw the movie.
When I first saw “Air Force One” (in the theater, I would have been 13) it was shortly after seeing Star Wars (IV) for the first time, it had just been re-released and I hadn’t ever caught it on tv.
I thought I recognized Mark Hamill in the movie and thought it was nice his old pal Harrison Ford through him some work. But of course it was actually William H. Macy!
I know Hamill voiced the Joker on “Batman: The Animated Series”, I think that’s his only other work I’ve seen, besides his guest voice spot as himself on “The Simpson’s”.
All three of the first ones were equally good for me.
The Horror! You've never seen The Blues Brothers?!?
Get thyself to Netflix, or Amazon, or something, and get it now! You will not be disappointed.
The phrases, "Chickenwire?", "Four fried chickens and a coke", "The new Buicks are in early this year", "I hate Illinois Nazis" and many others in pop culture will now be understood...
Yes, the mystery woman in The Blues Brothers uses several items in an attempt to kill Jake Blues. You have to watch it to find out why.
