Its been almost 40 years since Wolverines first appearance on the very last page of The Incredible Hulk #180. In comic book time, of course, Wolverine is much older: Over a hundred years old, a century-plus lifespan that has seen the man called Logan become a soldier, a samurai, a superhero, an X-Man, an Avenger, the amnesiac victim of horrific scientific experiments, a renegade, a teacher.
This September, thats going to end.

Yet.
They actually dabbled a bit with it back in the 1990s with the “feral Wolverine” story arc (that went no where). In the last issue I ever bought, they actually had him licking Cyclops.
DC made (not lost) a fortune first killing Sup, then bringing him back. Like the New Coke which spotlighted the Classic, Superman did, and now Wolverine will be back with a fiscal vengeance.
Yup. It wasn’t DC that lost on the death of Superman. It was all the idiots who bought multiple copies—and I mean MANY, some people bought hundreds of copies, hoping to sell them later for big bucks. Problem is that they sold so many the Death of Superman comics are virtually worthless.
Wolverine is already established in Marvel storylines set in the future. So any death is going to be temporary. Or figurative.
Comic book super-heroes never stay dead. Does anyone know if Marvel has resurrected Johnny Storm yet?
he’s too masculine of a character with a no nonsense, get it done, independent attitude.
they need to kill him off and promote more metro sexual/ homo friendly ‘heroes’ that are more aligned with fierce dependence on big govt
yes. he was resurrected a couple of years ago as capt america
;)
About every 2-3 years, every superhero gets “killed” off in the comic books. It’s an age old dodge to temporarily boost sales. Somehow, the superhero is always miraculously resurrected in the next issue.
Somehow, this ploy always reminds me of when one whole season of “Dallas” was supposedly just a dream “Bobby” had.
You’d think in this pro-sodomite culture we unfortunately live in, they’d write him coming out as gay or something.
Baloney.
Can’t have heros who fight for “Truth, Justice, and The American Way”.....
Hugh Jackman was demanding too much movie money. Something had to be done.
I imagine they’re going to kill off all of their non-homosexual characters as well as those who are in the country legally.
I remember when my best toy soldier Sam was killed in whatever war. But he must have been PTSD’d cause he had a lot of flashbacks.
Any characters that are killed back are eventually brought back (at least in name) to avoid forfeiting the character name to another creator/publisher.
Stores were stuck with a glut of "high priced" but worthless shiny books that no one was reading ("these are for resaale later!"). Quite a few doors closed up in the wake of that monopoly.
I don’t recall, was Wolverine Canadian? And was he in the country legally?
He was in the U.S. Army so he was probably a naturalized citizen.
