I have wondered about Beck for a while, but loved his exposure of the communist network in the US. Since he left FOX...he seems to have changed...and the immediate disregard to the Bundy situation really made me sick. Beck didn't even give the guy the benefit of the doubt and touted the NYT version.
I know he has risen to fame since 2001, ghost written several books, had rallies, etc....but to have a network, now? A base in NY....a major website (so buggy and full of cookies it puts me off).
Does anyone else find this strange?
And claims to be for the liberty movement but cowers at an old gent saying (what he considers) off-colored remarks? Hello 1st Amdmt!
I just don't get it.
The first ting he did was early on he ranted and raged that no one should show up at the Bundy ranch to confront the BLM.
He painted Bundy as an anti- government militant.
Then he labeled him as a racist, little if any better than a grand dragon of the KKK.
When what Bundy clearly was saying is that the great society programs have made the blacks slaves to the government.
I am surprised that Bundy did not, since he is a life long westerner, compare them to what the Bureau of Indian Affairs has done to the indians.
At any rate, Beck shot off his mouth based on the NYT story, which later turned out to have edited Bundy’s remarks to make him look worse than he is.
And today O’Reily called Bundy stupid.
For not getting a first class lawyer, he could be called that.
But it is interesting that he made the claim that the land in question did not and does not belong to the US government but belongs to the state.
Now all of a sudden nine western states have come to the same conclusion and are holding meetings in an effort to figure out how to take control of the land.
Nuff said.
“Why do you care who much wealth Beck has and how it got it?
As long as it was legally obtained, he can be as wealthy as he can be...”
He may have obtained his wealth legally, but he’s probably working to subvert the liberty movement and constitutionalists. Attacking supporters of Clive Bundy is very revealing.
When the SHTF, this guy will be solidly on the side of the establishment oligarchs.
Rush is a bricklayer.
Back in 2008-2010, Beck opened my eyes to many things. Now I don’t trust a word he says.
Didn’t Levin consider him a ‘back bencher’?
Good point.
That’s what has me really worried. I’m sick of his Ghandi crap.
Beck’s wealth does not concern me, his throwing Bundy under the bus does. I have been a fan, but his obsession with demonizing that poor man made me just sick. I don’t think I can listen to him any more. His analysis of Mr. Bundy’s words are way off the mark, IMHO.
He’s got a heluva radio following. (Advertisements) like Rush. Works when he feels like it.
it’s that thing the typer does
I vote “fraud”.
As for making so much money, I don’t understand how anyone makes so much money so fast. I remember in 1992 Ross Perot was considered super wealthy with $3 billion. Now he probably makes that much in a month with all the government contracts and tax breaks he has involving shipping. A billion bucks ain’t what it used to be. We really are a world of haves and have nots.
He’s done well. He was in the top 10 talk radio hosts for years in addition to his TV work. He has written many best selling books. That all adds up to lots of money. He was was making $32 million in 2008 per Huffington Post and Forbes. Only a couple million came from FOX. http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0426/entertainment-fox-news-simon-schuster-glenn-beck-inc.html. It doesn’t take many years with that kind of income to have a ton of money. Those numbers are from 2007-8. I saw some numbers recently that put his income at $80 million or so per year.
The historical collectibles are in addition to being neat to own are a great investment.
He is the face of the Blaze but he has other investors who he has said have lots of money. He is friends with the elder Huntsman for example. Not to say Bingaman is one of his partners.
Don't waste your energy trying to parse his positions, it will only give you a headache or indigestion.
Maybe he got paid to leave Fox, set up his own network, become the face of the Tea Party, and lead them over a cliff.
I almost feel as if he’s asking me to throw my grandfather under the bus because he’s from a different time.

Who the heck knows. I just know I don’t feel as though I can trust him again. I feel pretty betrayed.

I think you have pretty much summed it up.
