Just wondering...many websites,it seems, allow posters to amend their posts after hitting "submit".I know FR offers the spell check feature (which is great) but why not offer an "amend" feature as well? Not being a web designer I don't have the first clue how difficult,or expensive,it is to install and maintain such a feature. If it *is* difficult and/or expensive that's surely a good reason not to do it.But if,by chance,it's not...why not give it a try? If that happens I know that some of *my* posts will be more coherent.
Some of the fat fingered, drunken posts made her for over 13 years, have been the best, most hilarious things I have ever read. Leave it abone.
I’m stuned!. My beeber is tingling.
More coherent? Somewhere a Grammar Nazi's head is exploding.
Guess what? FR DOES have an edit function. The Mods use it all the time. I think they would use that function here and simply delete your 4th grade style of writing, but are instead leaving it up to amuse us.
I’d like to edit posts lot of times because I’d like to appear a little less stoopid.
I agree.
Yes, to the post before yours, from DManA. I guess I could have used an “Edit” button, huh?
;^)
bazinga!
There is a class of Freeper that, when argued into a corner, will take a typo as an excuse to make an ad hominem on their supposed tormentor and crow as if they’d scored a point.
An edit feature would short cut this antisocial behavior.
Thanks for sharing.....
And I thought I was the only one that did that...(sigh).
You need staff.
A five minute window to make edits would be nice.
No. Nothing wrong with usinglater replies to correct oneself. Shows the thinking process- which is usually beneficial.
I loved it before spell-check, knew right off who was a loonie.
Are you volunteering? If so,be warned....there'll be no pay,no vacation,no life insurance and *no* free birth control pills.
Understand? ;-)
If that's your measure of sanity then you'd be stunned to learn that I've never been in a straight jacket. ;-)
I would settle for being able to review the post’s title, along with the content of our posts which we currently can review for hitting submit.
I’ve been looking up the spelling of “bureaucracy “,probably monthly, for over 15 years LOL!
Worth it though.
Be nice to have a Free Republic App too
I do not like to be so picky but there is/are an ‘amend’ or ‘edit’ feature on FR: All you have to do is to submit a post or private post to the “Admin Moderator” ;-)
There is a feature call Preview....don’t check the box and you get to preview and edit before posting.
