mORE than 1,000 people have been vaccinated against hepatitis A after a Charlotte pizza place employee was hospitalized with the disease, according to health officials.
Health officials in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties are urging anyone who ordered or ate a pizza from the Papa John's on Cambridge Commons Drive between March 28 and April 7 to get the vaccine.
Free clinics have been giving shots throughout the weekend, and health officials say they have already vaccinated more than 1,000 people.
Hepatitis A is a virus that attacks the liver and can cause nausea, vomiting and jaundice.
Officials estimate 2,400 customers ordered pizza during the period.
The restaurant has been thoroughly cleaned and remains open.
How about some detail on the employee - an illegal alien, perhaps?
The employees get hepatitis just making it.
I eat out less and less for this very reason. One doesn’t know who is touching one’s food back in the kitchen. When I travel, I pack my own food. The only thing I buy is that night’s wine. Many times I even take my own with me.
Could be
I’ll take a liter of coke and large pepperoni with extra hepatitis.
Why?
The worst thing about a Liver is the fact that you only have one of them. Of course, my doctor told me that most people are born with ‘enough’ Liver to maintain nine people, but I’m down to enough for just one.
There was probably only one "alien" thing invading this employee. Look up the stats.
And they're so "proud."
I hear you, but some areas of the country don’t have many options.
When I’m in western Michigan, in a small town, by my relatives, I eat Pizza Hut simply because I have a relative guarantee of what I’m getting. It’s amazing at times, what some of these small towns call good pizza.
Because there’s no such thing as real pizza outside new york. So they have to substitute.

I miss SHAKEY’S PIZZA!
The best pizza I’ve ever had, and I live nowhere near there:
Leonardo’s Pizza

Especially the one that was near Madison, Wi.
Iiked the pizzas I had the times I was in Chicago years ago. Never been to NY.
The thirsty fellow in downtown Columbia makes an excellent one. Village idiot and pie-tanza are also excellent.
Think of who works behind your supermarket deli and meat counters. Got the same risks here too. the gal who makes the macaroni salad or shreds the deli meat, the guys grinding up the hamburger special of the week, same potential thing here too.
