At least it’s not prison stories, which seem to be a favorite of Zucker’s.

I thought Rowe was conservative. He’s either selling out ANY conservative views he may have, or he’ll be fired within a year.

The show sounds neither conservative nor liberal. It is just a show about people.

Agreed. But it’s on CNN. So there WILL be politics involved.
Still, I wish Mike all the best. Good luck.

Well...saving CNN certainly qualifies as a Dirty Job.
To: Responsibility2nd
Mike Rowe is a *capitalist.* He’s not interested in being left or right, he just wants to get his Mike Rowe Works foundation out there, touting the value of Voc-Ed and hard work.
I’m a fan of his, and will support him any way I can, even if it means watching Communist News Network to see his show.

His brother is also one trying to make a go of interactive dinner theatre. We love going and does not take a penny from his brother or anyone else. Good guy too.

You might consider CNN is selling out to get some ratings...

My impressions over the years have been Mike Rowe is Mike Rowe. He is always interested in making a buck but little interested in changing who he is.
I don’t think he lacks for opportunities of compensation without changing the style that has brought him success.

As much as I Like Mike, nothing could induce me to watch CNN. But I don’t begrudge Mike the job. I don’t know how he’ll keep from vomiting, but I suspect he’s got a strong stomach.

I guess news is out. I hope they at least do breaking news. For non-political news events, they are the only place to go to (excluding radio & internet).

Have you ever seen “Dirty Jobs?” I think he can keep his lunch down. I don’t think it involves any studio time, anyway. It sounds like a continuation of what he was doing on Discovery.

Yeah, but on “Dirty Jobs,” the worst thing he had to work around was some occasional toxic waste or feces ... not CNN.
