A gun will come quite handy in ‘teaching’ proper drone etiquette with respect to property and air rights.

I have been maintaining this line of reasoning for several years now.
You’ll never know what hit you.
Think ‘knockout game’.
They will use drones as an excuse to take away one aspect of private property rights: the right to not have someone hover over your house/yard and watch you.
They will make it a crime to shoot one of the damned things down.
Marching towards totalitarianism.
The dire consequence of “the drone,” as I see it removes responsibility and nullifies our Rights against unreasonable search, seizure, and life.
People will be all up in arms about the ‘search and seizure,’ part, but what they neglect to grasp at this point is your inalienable Right to life. The drone is giving way to a hidden Naziesque government. It is not just about the soldiers of war, it is about your local police officer, EPA enforcement agent, IRS Agent or any number of government agencies that seeks to know more about your private life.
Go ahead and attempt to shoot down one of the drones, the next drone they send out to you will kill you because you are now a threat to law enforcement. And all they needed was for you to not submit to the drones sky search of your life.
A while back there were several Americans killed in a foreign land and some here on FR had no problem with Obama ordering their deaths as the government claimed they were terrorists. A few of us diligently questioned the idea of ‘due process’ and curiously would like to know what it was and how they lost their right to face their accusers? The drone kills were not even in a country where we have existing military action happening.
The advent of the drone is not just about the war or soldier. We all should be highly concerned for our own safety.
Drones will make the 2nd amendment obsolete. Sure, you might be able to own a gun and blow away shiny targets at the shooting range.
But for the purposes of staving off a dictatorship guns will be irrelevant. Gun owners will never know what hit them. Especially with the miniature drones being developed now. Combined with facial recognition databases you could be a target just walking down the street. Think Breitbart.
They say the same thing with each new weapon.
Truth is you cannot conquer territory without boots on the ground unless all you want is desolate territory.
Tech can always be countered in some way.
The era 1480-1520 saw the following:
1. Use of guns which ended the prominence of mounted armor (knights)
2. The original IT revolution embodied in the printing press.
3. The rediscovery of America by Europeans.
4. The reformation.
These changes are felt even today. I have no doubt that events and inventions occurring today will be felt for centuries.
With drone tech, will come anti-drone tech, there will be Drone Wars!
Some of us suspect the whole purpose for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq was to use our tax dollars to develop the technology to suppress a popular uprising among a gun owning populace.
And before you tell me they ‘whupped our asses’ over there and we never really did ‘get a handle’ on them I’ll ask you to remember that the ROE in CONUS will be VASTLY different than the ROE in the sandbox.
Just imagining your scenario.
It would be the equivalent of a cop sitting in his car in your driveway.
You know he shouldn’t be doing it, and he knows it.
But both of you also know it will go very badly for you if you complain.

Rather you will see counter use of drones by those in rebellion also.
The elite want to rule over a very small number of slaves. They don’t need many, because they have machines but they need do some. The drones are useful for control of a docile population but before we reach that stage there will need to be massive depopulation. Many things indicate that the groundwork has been laid for this.
The problem is, the drones will get smaller and smaller till they are self-replicating nanobots. WThey will also continue to merge tech with the human body, and of course manipulate our genes at the same time.
The convergence of which will make it near impossible to fight a totalitarian state, when gene altered humans, merge with tech, can essentially work in and control a virtual neural net of bots that will either kill you or assimilate you, much like the borg. Those that escape both fates will have to be very tech savvy people.
It will not be a world for the stupid.

Okey-dokey, now take the good old USA with its “of the people, by the people and for the people” type of government - - - - ?

* Ruler # 2 is Reid, gatekeeper of the US Senate;
* Ruler # 3 is Roberts, rubber stamp Judge for Rulers # 1 and 2; and
* Ruler # 4 is Boehner, loyal House doormat to Rulers # 1, 2 and 3.
Hmmmmm- - - - ? I guess it all depends on what one’s definition of the word “few” is - - - - .
