I have family friend that used live among Amish when he was kid he told me long time ago most Amish are hard working people so I always knew it was fake
Even that one show Breaking Amish that one on TLC during summer months that is fake
It’s reality teevee, not reality.
Because it’s fake?
That has to be one of the worst hows on cable television. I’d rather watch a couple of re-runs of “Pawn Stars” episodes for the 50th time...
“How come the referee never noticed the manager was interfering?”
Cause the “valet” was always distracting him!
Other then OJ
On account of it is TV. It is staged, scripted and put on TV to make conservative acting people look like hypocrites. A WHOLE lot like Jerry Springer ( the liberal moron of the decade). When did you EVER see the Italians or Jews touting their escapades on TV (excepting the acting media)? NEVER in a thousand years.
More attacks on a Christian group - one least able to fight back - by the conspiracy of anti-Christian thugs who run the entertainment” industry.
OK, I got a Amish question. The wife and I just got home yesterday from Lido Beach, Florida. We were there for 6 days. There were quite a few Amish, 30 or more, hanging out on the beach staying in a pricey($300/night)hotel and sitting on the beach, walking, picking up sea shells, soaking in the hot tub, fishing, etc.? Do they go on vacation just like everybody else?
Some do.They even have their own retirement community in Florida.
Maybe the cops are busy watching “Moonshiners” re-runs.
I grew up with Amish and Mennonites in NE Ohio. This show has got to be bogus. I never saw nothing but pacifism and decency from these folk. There was a year or two when Amish teenagers would get a little wild before they would join the church.
I stopped watching that BIGFOOT reality show when I realized that IF these people ever found it, I wouldn't need to wait for the next episode to hear about it because it would be on the national news.
The only reality shows I watch are the ones that are real such as Diggers, Dangerous Grounds (the man will do anything for coffee), Ghost Adventures and The Dead Files.
Remember, all Amish are Mennonites, but not all Mennonites are Amish.
What gave it away? That character called Jedidiah Walnuts?
Ding,Ding, we have a winner!
All the reality TV shows are either fully scripted or at least have built-in scripted portions that the characters perform to build in some drama or whatever. It’s supposed to make it more watchable but only serves as a reminder that I need to continue channel surfing.
Even Duck Dynasty sucks these days. There’s no way that Si could be that much of an idiot. And there’s no way the family would put up with it.
100% fake. Take it from Jakey Stoltzfus!
The only thing the Amish do, at least the Amish here, is that when their kids turn 16 they are allowed to go out ‘into the world’ for a while to decide if they will stay Amish or leave the faith. They are given a choice. According to our Amish, most come back. Just a few don’t. We know this because two of our Jack Russell Terrorists come from our local Amish. A family there raises them. We were visiting once and a young Amish girl came driving up in a car. We asked about it and that is what we were told. Breaking Amish was probably built on that practice with a lot of embellishments to make it a show. Hollywood loves to poke fun at religious and/or country type folks.
