THE ONE PERCENT SET TO FLEE NEW YORK CITY
Eye On the Nation News ^ | 03/04/2014

Posted on 03/04/2014 10:06:50 AM PST by Beave Meister

According to the New York Post, New York City’s mad cap Sandinista Mayor Bill de Blasio is about to find out a truth that conservatives have known all along, that bashing the rich can only go so far.

It seems when he is not throwing little children out of charter schools or banning carriage rides in Central Park, de Blasio is on full class warfare mode and is going after New York’s one percent with a vengeance. It seems that the wealthy elite are starting to have had enough and are getting ready to decamp en masse, to Florida it appears by preference, but presumably also to other low tax, low regulation red states where they appreciate people of wealth.

This will be nothing short of a disaster for the Big Apple. Because of that city’s confiscatory taxes, the rich provide a great deal of the money that it takes to fill pot holes and pay the police. That money will be missed if the glitterati are suddenly in Florida and Texas. Perhaps their abandoned mansions can be turned into low income housing, just as the palaces of the nobility were in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution.

Stock trades that are mere miliseconds apart can make or break an investment company Well, there's yer problem right there. What possible rational explanation can there be for a system in which running to the head of the line informs values of stocks. Seems like nothing but an insiders way of screwing small town main street and puts real value appraisal behind relative value at the moment.

“”””the rich provide a great deal of the money that it takes to fill pot holes and pay the police.”””””

Not to mention the amount of money they spend at resturants, boutiques, bakeries....
Regular people... waitresses, drivers, whathaveyou... work at these places.

I hear liberals scream about a certain rich people spending $5k a day on food, jewelry, clothes like its a crime “while some suffer”.

I say let them spend away. Spend 10k, 20k more! Some lowly waitress is getting a chunk of that. I sure would like to own a jewelry store within walking distance of these people or own a resturant where a celebrity and his entourage show up.

But NO! Thats “Trickle Down” and liberal minds don’t work like that. They think the money should be given to the poor (it already is via charity) and trickle up.
Well, guess what? It will trickle up. It will trickle right back up to the rich and the poor will be standing there again with their hand out.

I say embrace the Rich. Love the Rich. Make it easy for the rich to live in your neighborhood. They stay longer. They keep spending money.

Don’t come to Texas! You’re not welcome here.

We are always make sure to tell our liberal friends and relatives in California how wretchedly hot it gets here in the summer and about the ice storms, hail, and tornados during the rest of the year. So far that's worked.

That's not news. Once New York City enabled city income taxes, no wonder why many of the rich packed their bags and moved to Florida, Texas and Arizona.

You are correct, I was in error. Thanks!

I had been told he adopted the name, that “de Gaulle” meant “of France” and in a time when the Soviet leaders changed their names to “Steel” and “Iron” (Stalin and Lenin, or so I was told) I found it quite believable.

We're lucky, we're watching history. This is the very beginning of New York City's transformation into New Detroit.

That's what happened in Detroit, the money and talent left and once-magnificent Detroit rapidly devolved into New Mogadishu.

Liberal politicians lust after power and other peoples' money, and they are parasites upon civic prosperity. They enrich themselves through systemic corruption as long as the host population allow, and will flee with their misbegotten gains to the Hamptons when the city is on life support.

As long as people keep electing these scum, it won't get any better. I have a lot of trouble trying to empathize with the people who elect them.

Actually, most of these people will probably be from the neighborhood that didn’t get its streets cleaned in the snowstorm in Feb - the Upper East Side, where the residents did NOT vote for him.

This was reported in the NYC press at the time, and it emerged that there was no real reason that the Upper East Side should not have been cleaned, except for De Blasio’s hatred of “the rich.” (He’s pretty comfortable himself, btw.)

So we can’t assume they’re going to be leftists, and in fact, I’d say many of them may not be.

12 Given it is now a digital internet connected world, why the finacial industry has to cluster together at Wall Street or any other particular venue beats me.

Just my 2 cents - how about inertia, i.e., it's always been done that way. Of course, the BIG reset/correction coming down the pike courtesy of BHO may well provide the energy to break inertia, and Wall Street.

He isn’t a real conservative if that’s how he looks at women...even liberal women. Islamists view all western women the same way, as subhuman to be used sexually at will with out any penalties assessed by Allah.

Not arguing with your conclusion, just pointing out the reality of the situation. Physics is physics. In practical terms, the difference of those few milliseconds has to be multiplied by a jillion transactions for the distance to have any real effect. Since I don’t personally own an investment banking firm, this has yet to change my personal wealth. They make their money at one end of the scale, and I make mine at the other end. YMMV. ;-)
