(CNSNews.com) – Although whites outnumber blacks in Mississippi by nearly 2-to-1, 71.67% of the babies aborted in Mississippi are black, while 26.6% are white.
Based on data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 39,052 black babies were killed by abortions in Mississippi between 1995 and 2010. During that same time period, 14,529 white babies were aborted in the Magnolia State.
The total number of abortions between 1995 and 2010 in Mississippi was 54,484. In addition to blacks and whites, that number also includes abortions among Hispanics, "Other" (meaning Asian and Native American), and "Unknown," as published by the CDC.
The data for 2010 is the latest information from the CDC on reported abortions, as published in their annual Abortion Surveillance reports. The next report, which will cover 2011, is projected to be published in November of this year.

The population of Mississippi for 2012, as estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau, was 2,986,450. Among that group, whites comprised 59.9% or 1,788,883 persons. Blacks comprised 37.4% of the population, which equals 1,116,932 persons. The balance in population was comprised of Hispanics (2.9%), and American Indian, Pacific Islander and Asian (less than 1%).
Whites in Mississippi outnumber blacks by a ratio of 1.6-to-1. Despite that difference, the data show that black abortions comprised, on average, 72% of the total over the last 16 years.
Although black abortions comprised 72% of the total abortions between 1995 and 2010, in some years the percentage was higher. In 2009, for example, the percentage of black babies killed by abortion in Mississippi in relation to the total was 76.8%. In 2007, it was 77.8%; in 2005, 77.2%.

The Mississippi State Department of Health provides abortion statistics every year but the numbers are categorized as "white," "non-white," and "unknown race"--the Department does not publish specific numbers on black abortions in its annual vital statistics reports.

This was the purpose for which abortion was intended.
Any clues as to why the huge disparity?
More acceptable in their culture?
More likely to be “free” for blacks than whites?
3 to 1 ratio for a population that is 1 of 12 seems way out of whack. Like, 3600% out of whack.
This report does not surprise me. What does is that blacks are not angry. No they support this. Al and Jeeesseee would go nuts if these women lost their right to “choose”.

If you are white do you really want to travel to the black area of town for an abortion? Think about it.
It's because the TEA Party is a racist organization backed by the 1%.
Might be true of other states.
In MS the single abortion clinic is located just across the street from the biggest hospital in the state. And directly in one of the few remaining white neighborhoods in Jackson. It’s easily accessed via I-55 and a major 4 lane thoroughfare w/o traveling through black neighborhoods.
Sometimes I think the “Reverends” Sharptongue and Hijackson are merely front men for the Klan or some group like it. Other times, I just think J.C. Watts was right to call Hijcakson (and by implication Sharptongue) “a race baiting poverty pimp.” These racist charlatans have done more harm to the people they claim to represent than the KKK could ever dream of doing — and they don’t seem to mind, as long as they get rich doing it.

See my post. The single clinic in the state is not located, for example, in west Jackson or the Delta. Areas that are majority black and count as the ‘hood’.
Not a week goes by that I don't seriously, honestly ask myself how a group of people could be so blind as to what is happening to them. When I see what is happpening to the country, I am torn between weeping and raging.
