FULL TITLE: Kindergarten teacher suspended after two of her students, aged five, are caught 'having sex' in school bathroom
A kindergarten teacher has been suspended from her job after two of her students were found ‘having sex’ while naked in her classroom's bathroom.
Kelly Mascio, who has been teaching for more than 15 years in Mullica Township, New Jersey, has been suspended with pay since the incident on September 30.
According to a police report, Mascio found the two five-year-olds - a boy and girl – naked in her in-classroom bathroom. They told her they were ‘having sex.’

Sadly, it was behavior they picked up from home - someone in the house probably has a porn addiction.

This is BS. Who imagines that two five year olds will start simulating sex?
Also, suspended with pay = VACATION.
The fact that she didn’t know the kids were in the bathroom together is a problem. That said, I can’t say she should be fired. Frankly I’m more concerned about the home life of two 5 yr old children who engage in “sex.”
Especially if they did the deed in the bathroom marked for the other gender.
Maybe the board feels that she should have better control of her classroom especially since the restroom was in the classroom.
These were kindergarteners not junior high or older. How did she not notice a boy and girl missing at the same time in her classroom???
I also wonder if she had a teacher’s aide — which they usually do in those classes.

I don’t get this either. But the reference to picking up stuff from home is a good thought, porn or maybe even molestation going on.

After my adventures in urban substituting, ended last year, whenever I see one of these stories my first question is what led up to it. How many students does she have? Is there an aide? It's actually rather difficult to keep an eye on what every youngster is doing if the teacher is alone, they're a bit unruly, and there's no aide.
My only surprise would be that at this point of the year, you'd think she'd know if she had students with potential for this behavior, and have the bathroom and all other areas out of her vision blocked off.
When you guys were 5 years old how many kids did you know of who would sneak into the bathroom to have sex? Okay. Really. Most of us back then did not know what sex was. Much less sneak into a bathroom at age 5, get naked and try it! At age 15 yes but not age 5!
I can see this teacher never thought in a million years these kids would try this. At age 5, in kindergarten we were still singing nursery songs and could not wait for juice and cookies to be served.
The point is that the teacher should know where her charges are at all times — and she obviously didn’t in this case.
