I used to think that the RRHOF wouldn't be complete until it inducted the mighty Ten Fingers of Doom himself, Ted Nugent. Now, I do not EVER want Ted's name associated with an organization that endorses such an angry and evil cult. As for myself, the RRHOF is dead to me, and my money shall never go to an entity that supports a foul, smelly, goat-humping, hell-bound, evil fool such as Yusef Islam.

Back before he converted he had a really tight band. He eschewed his successful career for Islam...bad choice IMHO, but he music prior to that was very good.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has - like The Nobel Peace Prize and other awards organizations - Jumped the Shark.
There are no longer relevant and credible.

Cat Stevens was not a rock artist. His created pop music.

Even if he was still Cat Stevens, he wouldn’t belong.
The only one on that list that is truly deserving is Nirvana.

Like the Oscars, Grammys, the Nobels — it's all political. Or in this case, politically correct and tolerant.

The hall is no different than the Grammys or Oscars. Just a venue to push PC. Nothing legit about it.

Probably 3/4 of the votes Stevens got were from members that are unable to name more than two of his songs.

This adds extra insult to the fact that the Monkees get the back of the Hall of Fame's hand.
I can not stand the treacly Cat Stevens.

I thought he was on a watch list. No US entry. Maybe BHO can accept for him. BHO considers himself a “cool cat”...

Yusef Islam's had a few bright moments as a muslim.
After 9/11, he said:
I wish to express my heartfelt horror at the indiscriminate terrorist attacks committed against innocent people of the United States yesterday. While it is still not clear who carried out the attack, it must be stated that no right-thinking follower of Islam could possibly condone such an action. The Qur'an equates the murder of one innocent person with the murder of the whole of humanity. We pray for the families of all those who lost their lives in this unthinkable act of violence as well as all those injured; I hope to reflect the feelings of all Muslims and people around the world whose sympathies go out to the victims of this sorrowful moment.
I wouldn't have voted to induct him into the RRHOF.

Rolling Stone is actually in charge of everything that makes the R&R HOF what it is. Their emphasis is not to define rock and roll and figure out who belongs. Instead, it's much too much into rock as a commercial and sensationalist enterprise. And the selections? It's pretty much a club that votes in their friends.
This year's induction is in Brooklyn, NY. That's right....the Rock Hall doesn't even get to have the induction in Cleveland every year.
I put them in "joke" status when their Women in Rock display included a Carrie Underwood concert outfit.

Oh, yes, Peace Train, I'd forgotten:
Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss?
This from the guy who supported the death fatwa against Salman Rushdie. Well, everybody changes, and not always for the better. Nowadays it's Suicide Bombers For Peace...

RRHOF has the significance of the ol’ album collection stored in the attic.
