Back before he converted he had a really tight band. He eschewed his successful career for Islam...bad choice IMHO, but he music prior to that was very good.
I agree.. nice tunes. I think he was overwhelmed by success and just went the opposite to a shut in, up tight, hateful disciplined religion that is the antithesis of the 60’s .
