If I get any photos of the Palin clan, I will post them.
This will be my first Iron Dog so I’ll probably miss them. But, who knows!
OKay! I sure hope and I think I’ll pray that you get some photos with them and for sure of them.
They’re very friendly and love to mix with people, particularly people who love them.
Bump
I admire this family so much!
OH Okay that Dr Huang
Yes, indeed. It’s so refreshing to see a truly happy and decent family, with true American values.
Overnight! Sorry I’m so late with the ping. That will teach me to live in Asia.
Go Todd!
LOL! Here we go, a brand war worse than Chevy vs. Ford!
Seriously, is he riding the Skidoo or the Cat?
And is the Cat the new fangled 800 ( or 600? I can't remember ) with their Direct Injection?
SkiDoo in the pic but I dunno. To be honest I haven’t kept up since I raced back in the 80s. 440 SRX Super mod II and 340 Modified. Hell, the “wife” sleds today stock have more power than my race sleds did! And we thought THEY were fast. (well they WERE...but still) ;)
Todd is starting in 25th position. I haven’t noticed Sarah in the pics at the ropeline the last couple of years. Last year I think a pic was posted of her in a truck. I think i’ve seen pics of the kids at the rope. I wonder if Sarah hangs back a little now, so as not to distract.
If Sarah is there, my wife will find her...LOL! She has been trying since a Reno Nevada rally in 2008 to get close and has been within 10 feet twice but no handshake. Sarah is always on the move and doesn’t stand still long enough for a photo...at least that has been my wife’s experience.
Hopefully, the drought ends this weekend. :-)
"We made it to Puntilla! Wow! That was crazy! DEEP open water, gnarly trails and the wildest, longest 140 miles of our lives. Off to bed after a fabulous dinner."
Pro Class will have their work cut out for them on Sunday. Channel 2 KTUU will have a live TV broadcast and webcast of the Start and Finish......
marked,, thanks for the links
I put the links on my profile page yesterday (mostly so I can easily keep up with them!) and also the layovers, excerpted from the rules. I’m adding stuff as I go.
Tyler Huntington looks part Eskimeaux. Go go Eskimeaux. I chill out watching Alaska based shows on TV. Like gold mining and crab fishing etc etc Even the Alaska vacation house hunting show shows are good
Great picture... thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the ping!
I believe the Yamaha is a 4 stroke engine, lower RPM but its being discussed as having more reliability and actually better fuel mileage. And with the very harsh trail with lots of ice and frozen dirt it may not be speed that wins but a more rugged engine frame, without some loose snow the tracks will burnt up, they make “ice scratchers” but they won’t last long at those speeds, I have installed several kits on friends sleds here in Alaska.
Arguably the two cycle engines like the Rotax are the performers but maybe this year the Yamahas will last longer, just my race prediction.
Sorry to take this thread a little track but one thing I’ve never seen mentioned in the ethanol debate is it’s effects on snow machines and vehicles in cold weather climates. Anybody have first hand knowledge on this?
Not a whole lot if any ethanol in Alaska gas, I own 12 motorcycles, a bunch of cars and trucks and a snowmachine and have had no issues with our Alaska gas, ethanol gas absolutely hates to be stored long time. Around 92/93 they tried oxygenated gas in Anchorage and hundreds of cars had to head to the repair shops, ethanol and arctic conditions do not mix, I believe some wiser people figured out that all in all ethanol in Alaska gas would wind up killing people so I think we have been spared for the most part.
