"Iron Dog Trail Class will start around 2:00 EST time (map has a countdown to race time). The new GPS tracking is up ..... looks FABULOUS .... hope it works as well as it looks! Heres a link so you can check it out! If you really zoom in on the map, you can get a lot of terrain features. Clicking on the checkpoints or an individual racer gives you details & also status (also status is in list form on the right side of the map toolbar so you can tell what is going on). You can also filter by Trail/Pro Class, see the checkpoints (when racers are in/out, etc.).
Go Todd Go
Let me correct something I said previously on where to find the ‘stats’ .... the main toolbar starts with Home, then has Events, then Race Tracking.
On the Race Tracking pull down menu, the first item is “Pro Class Stats”. This will give you: Position, Team, Status, Time In/Out, & Course Time/Average Speed. There is one for Trail Class Stats, too.
From the “Pro Class Stats” page, you can click on the link to ‘GPS Tracking’ or you can also get it from the Race Tracking pull down menu - it’s the 3rd item under Trail Class Stats.
On the GPS map (this is SO cool), on the right hand side of the map you will see a ‘toolbar’. You can find the Pro Class or Trail Class list - IF you click on any individual racer, it takes you to that racer’s track on the map, plus individual info such as: Race Status (& when last update was received), current speed, average speed, route mile, moving time, stopped time, & moving average speed. Trail Class is showing details up on this feature, Pro Class is not, since they don’t start until Sunday.
For checkpoint & layover time (which is a little complicated), here is a link to the Pro Class Race Rules:

You can find the specifics under: Sec. 9. CHECKPOINT AND LAYOVER OPERATION
Pardon me if I’m too excited/obnoxious here, but I’ve gotten super addicted to the Iron Dog .... got into it because of hearing about Todd Palin, but now I just really like the entire race! ~Q~
If he needed a new partner he should have returned the favor by taking John McCain.
Maybe then Queeg would have gotten eaten by a grizzly or some timberwolves or something.
The Pro Class teams start around 11:10 (Alaska time) on Sunday with teams going off every 2 minutes:

Todd/Tylers starting position is #23 - they are Team #11 which is Todds usual Team #:

Heres a useful site for keeping up with Alaska time vs. our time:

Thank you so much, again, dearest, awesome Qiviut!!
All I know is that your link works perfectly!
I’m saving it and I hope I remember to include it on all our IRON DOG threads, but if not, you will be here!
Smiling ... oh yeah!
Trail Class is racing!!!! In the upper left corner of the map, you can “refresh team locations” or check the box to “refresh every 3 minutes” .... nice feature.
Why does this man insist on Ski-Doo and Arctic Cat sleds?
Real men ride Yamaha. Obviously Palin is a communist ;)
We are headed into Anchorage this weekend. We’re going to try to make it up to Big Lake and hope we can catch a glimpse of Sarah or Todd. Maybe even get close enough to get a pic together. That would make my wife’s day! (Well, and mine too!)
I like the SRX. Nice sled.
His partner is the psychologist from Law & Order?!
Once you’ve wooed and won Sarah Louise Heath, you need never prove your manhood again.
Okay are you talking about Dr George Wong from Law and Order SVU or Emil Skoda from Mother ship Law and Order
The SVU guy.
OH, Praise God!
I’m so happy for you!
Please post your photos!!!
Yea but now when the PDS hits full stride before the next election and I get accused of being a drooling Palinbot by the psuedocons again, I can point to this thread and say, “Hey, I’m on record saying Palin is a communist!”
Sure, it was about Todd and sure it was a joke, but none of those idiots care much for reality anyway ;)
The griz be sleeping, but perhaps a polar bear forced south by all the warming. Wolves, always an option.
