And why is that? Because it's beginning to dawn on me that Jeb Bush is probably going to be the Republican Party's nominee for president in 2016.
Consider: With the ongoing implosion of Chris Christie's political career, the GOP establishment has lost its best hope for a candidate who could stop a libertarian-populist insurgency during the primaries. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker the list of viable fire-breathers is longer (and less dominated by incompetents, crazies, and one-note sideshow acts) than establishment types would like.

Scott Walker is a much better “compromise” candidate. He is pro amnesty, which will play good with the establishment, and he is conservative on a lot of other things that will play well with the tea party. With a conservative house and senate, I don’t think an amnesty bill can get through, so it would nullify his establishment cred.
Jeb is Next In Line. The Republican Party does not want to win the Presidency. It wants to reward its GOPe stalwarts with the Republican Nomination. That is the epitome of Republican approval. But Republican Establishment types generally do not want to be President any more than GOPe wants a Republican President. Bush Sr. was president despite anything he could do to throw that election. The voters thought he was Reagan redux. Junior only seemed to actually want the job when he saw that he might just squeak through. The rest since Ford- arguably took dives.
This pointless article was posted the other day. Completely meaningless.
Such a president with a Tea Party controlled Congress could be a good bet. But he is not Next In Line and he has not been lining up support and putting out markers for 12 years already. That is a minimum of what is required to get an edge on the Establishment. That is what Reagan did.
If some other RINO goes up against the Hildebeast, it will be 49. I am not looking forward to it.
I don’t think Palin work work. The media have done too good a job of demonizing her. She also motivates the hard left to get out and vote against her. Notice: I am not saying I would not support her just that I think that ticket would have to spend too much time defending themselves against the overt lies about her past.
Ted Cruz / Ben Carson might be better in that regard. Carson is not as conservative as Palin and does not have the political experience but he is, I think more electable at this point in time.
Cruz/Gingrich would also work for me.
Guaranteed loser. That’s what the GOPe wants. In a 2-party system, there is no less job security in being the second party as there is in being the leading party. It’s a very simple calculation.
Harlem Globetrotters <> Washington generals. Same scenario.
May work with lots of meds. With the 55+ we’ll have the usual dysfunctional but semi-controllable government. Set us up good for the next election.. Right?
I’m running out of lifetime to see an election with a positive outcome (since Reagan).
And Sheila Jackson Lee will be president in 2017.
FUGOP!! FUJB!! NO AMNESTY PUSHERS!!
it would not matter if the ocean parted for Jeb to walk across
it would not matter if Jeb could turn water into wine
it would not matter if Jeb could turn salt water into bourbon
the Bush “brand” has been so tarnished by years of D party advertising and attacks,
it is still a loser.
fair or not.
the R’s need someone else this time
The anti Walker crusade has convinced quite a number of that unlikely characterization.
They are going to lie about anybody we nominate. Ben Carson is squishy on a lot of things, including the second amendment.
That's Uncle Joe
He's a movin kinda slow
In disfunction.
Delusional disfunction!
Absolutely.
Romney / Bush - - Liberals for faux-Conservatives
Just like they're keeping Obama in line!
IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE THERE IS ONLY GOVERNMENT.

As I have said for a long time now, I do not think I will not see another Republican President in my lifetime.
She defends McCain.
