"I'm saving for a bakery," Chloe said in the piece that got her into trouble.

Never call the police or the press.

“The rules are the rules. It’s for the protection of the public health,” said health department spokeswoman Amy Yeager. “The guidelines apply to everyone. People will react how they choose to react. But it is our job.”

Yeah Amy, we need you to protect us because, as you said, it is your job.

Then land of opportunity is a thing of the past. Shattering dreams. That’s the governments specialty.

I wonder if the State wanted her to join a union too?

“The rules are the rules. It’s for the protection of the public health,”

No, Amy, it's not for protecting public health. It's for protecting government jobs and existing food establishments.

In military kitchens, health inspections are frequent and tough. In commercial kitchens, inspections are infrequent, and shoddy.

If I buy a cupcake from an 11 year old I know what I'm getting and that I'm assuming some risk; I don't need Amy the government bureaucrat looking out for me.

Words repeated by tyrants for centuries.

“The rules are the rules. It’s for the protection of the public health,” said health department spokeswoman Amy Yeager. “The guidelines apply to everyone. People will react how they choose to react. But it is our job.”

This is why government should be limited. Normal people can decide how big a soft drink they want without government help. Normal people can decide whether they want a cupcake on their own. We are adults, and we don't need a nanny making those decisions for us. I wish liberals would move to some pathetic but sheltered enclave where they can be babied and leave real Americans alone to face the menace of cupcakes on our own terms.

When I was 17 I worked as a summer busboy at a hotel. The full time employees were unionized, and a union fee was deducted from my base paycheck (the rest was tips). Out of curiousity, I asked about attending a meeting, since I was paying for it. I was told to buzz off. Check one big mark in a lifetime hatred of unions and liberals.

Moving on to this young lady, I suspect she will develop a very healthy disrespect for authority and regulation as a result of this experience, regardless of how Common Core tries to mold her. It’s a relatively painless and early reality mugging, which too many of our liberal friends never get.

This issue is an example of a state properly exercising 10th Amendment-protected intrastate commerce powers. If legal voters in this state do not like their state’s policy concerning this issue, but do not work with their local and state government representatives to make a friendlier policy, then voters have nothing to complain about but their own laziness.

She should offer a public bath house for homos to have sex in by the hour.

Government sees no interest in regulating them or protecting public health.

Who was her customer base? Her grandparenst, the neighbors or fellow students? Who turned her in? Once again, the msm has failed to include important facts.

” - - - an 11-year-old girl - - - “

Just because this young woman does not yet need Obamacare-approved female products, it is just awful that the Democrats continue their War on Women!

Just wait until Democrat Woman Mentor Sandra Fluk hears about this!

Gasp! What if Mrs. Bill Clinton read about it in the New York Times?!

Nanny State Ping!

I make and sell jellies, preserves and mustards and other than paying the fee for a table at the various farmers’ markets, street fairs, etc I’ve had no issues with any government regulators - even when I was selling them at a stand we erected on our road front in front of the house.

I have a friend in PA who is now doing something similar (without the road side stand) but had to go through all kinds of regulatory hoops just to sell them at the local farmers’ market. Each time she wants to add a new flavor mustard or jelly she has to get it approved AND the label approved.

She is one of my oldest and dearest friends, but we have total opposite attitudes about things like this. She is of the mind set of the official who claims this is for “public health,” while I am of the same opinion as have been expressed in this thread.
