Didn’t the Atkins Diet expose the ‘fat is a killer’ lie, many moons ago?

Eat more bacon and eggs and butter. How much more natural can you get?

I always say look at the ingredients in a common loaf of bread today, vs bread made 50 years ago.
There is a difference and I would guess not for the good.

Our family is a diabetes factory. We reduced carbohydrate intake drastically and are now much healthier. I am personally much healthier on a meat centric diet. Add some veggies and I feel great.

This is nothing new.

Dr. Fred Otoboni and his wife Dr. Alice Otoboni found that polyunsaturated fats are a big part of heart disease, and type 2 diabetes, and that was many years ago.

Grind and Cook the flour yourself. Avoid any processed flour. Especially GMO flour. You’ll feel better and have more energy.

Foods your grandmother... or great-granmother... would recognize.

I'm up for that. Meat, taters, gravy, garden vegetables. I could eat this every day, I think.

The doctor seems to focus on the simple carbs and the glycemic response. I think the high levels of sodium in processed foods is also a big factor. If you are retaining too much water, the heart has to pump additional volume through water logged tissue. Leads to high BP, enlarged hearts, kidney issues, etc.

This could be a whole thread by itself, but among the lies from the drug/medical community (also noted in the article) is the multi-billion-dollar cholestrol reducing drug industry. There is more and more evidence that cholestrol doesn’t lead to heart disease, but the drugs are HARMFUL.

I now have nerve damage in my feet caused by statins. It’s annoying and painful and will never really heal. My case is minor compared to others because I discovered it early, and stopped POISONING myself with statins. Cold feet was the first major sign for me. There are Internet threads out there full of others less fortunate who kept taking the drugs even though they knew something was wrong.

If you’re taking statins you should look into this, and read up on the cholestrol thing...a lot of disagreement on it.

As I read this there’s whole wheat dough, five ingredients only, rising in the kitchen.

Isn't this kinda the same thing given how fatty most processed foods are? Comparing the calories and fat in an egg and bacon sandwich you make at home vs. one from Jack in the Box was an eye opener in my house.

I can also make a decent red sauce for pizza that isn't mostly sugar and crisco. That seems to be what they've added to Dominos to make it “bolder”.

If correct, the oils shown with a long blue bar are bad:
bad: sunflower oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, soybean oil

good: butter, coconut oil, lard, palm oil and olive oil

Also means seafood good, especially fatty fish like salmon.
Lean meat good.

Funny how extremely unscientific the word ‘processed’ is but used in these junk articles.

He explains that this once 'healthy' diet actively destroys the walls of our blood vessels by causing chronic inflammation. This inflammation makes cholesterol stick to the walls, forming the plaques that eventually block them, resulting in a heart attack or stroke.

So why not continue to take statins, which reduce this inflammation?*

*Not going to respond to comments about myopathies and similar, none of which affect me.

I’ve been sending this to all my friends

http://www.preventdisease.com/news/12/030112_World-Renown-Heart-Surgeon-Speaks-Out-On-What-Really-Causes-Heart-Disease.shtml

I can’t eat any boxed foods anymore, let alone at most restaurants. It’s a long story, but I came to the ‘no-processed-foods’ conclusion for me long before I came across this guy, including quitting my cholesterol meds.

I’m glad he’s getting press (finally).
