FULL TITLE: Boy Scouts of America will officially welcome gay members on New Year's Day as they grapple with questions about group showers and tentmates
The Boy Scouts of America will accept openly gay youths starting New Year's Day, marking a historic shift that spells major changes to policies on tentmates and showers.
Yet despite their be-prepared approach, BSA leaders are rooting for the change to be a non-event, comparable to another New Year's Day in 2000 when widespread fears of digital-clock chaos to start the new millennium proved unfounded.
‘My hope is there will be the same effect this Jan. 1 as the Y2K scare,’ said Brad Haddock, a BSA national executive board member who chairs the policy implementation committee. ‘It's business as usual, nothing happens and we move forward.’

Tolerance for those with homosexual attractions. Absolutely. Celebratory acceptance of those same people who surrender to those attractions with homosexual acts or overt practice of gay lifestyle never.
Everyone has many or few attractions for different sexual acts. Pedophilia, homsexual, adulterous and on and on are just some of them. In times past most people refused to engage in the acts which attracted them, but rather shrugged them off as part of the human condition. Nowdays, many people really believe if you feel like doing such things, .not to do so is to deny who you are. So they act on the attraction, re-inforce it and then want society to applaud.

Supported the BSA my whole life.
Buckling under to the homo lobby like they did, and embracing deviancy and perversion, they’ve not only branded themselves as abject cowards, but they’ve spit on everything they once stood for. They are a disgrace to God and country.
I hardly have the words to even express my contempt for them.
Sodomizers should just start their own Queer Scouts of America, own their own bakeries, photography studios, bridal shops and C&W night clubs.
Because they don’t do this, shows me they want me to acknowledge their sin as acceptable, which I will not do.
They need to let me have my personal space just as I give to them. In the ‘70’s they said “stay out of our bedroom”. In the here and now they want to put their bedroom in my face and my living room TV.
They have gone too far in this and will lose this game. Back to the closet with you all!

First infiltrate public schools, colleges, and universities, then the professions- law and medicine, control the judiciary; and then go after private institutions (Boys and Girl Scouts), and finally takeover the “Protestant” churches (Evangelicals, Anglicans, Protestants etc). Game over.
At one time, I considered remembering the BSA in my will; never thought they would give up their “morally straight” oath. Lesson learned: Satan can and will destroy any earthly institution.
As I already posted in a letter to the editor of my local paper, I can no longer support the BSA due to their betrayal of their Law and Oath which state things like being “morally straight” and “reverent to God”.
I spent over 13 years as an adult leader with my boys units. I held many different titles (den leader, cubmaster, assistant Scout master, to name the major ones) and worked with many great adults and boys. I was fortunate enough to watch my two boys earn their Eagle rankings. I had planned on continued volunteer work with the Troop that my boys were in, but now I can not support them.
I did receive some cold shoulders for voicing my belief, but most of the leaders I had worked with, feel the same way and most likely will also be leaving the organization. I can not imagine how the higher ups think this move will make boy scouts more popular. My boys were outgoing, self confident, athletes, but even they felt the pressure to leave Scouts in High School because it was looked at as not “cool”. NOW, with it embracing the homosexual agenda, it will only make it worse for quality boys to want to be a part of during the tough High School years.
Sick. Sad. A sign of the times.

These guys need to start a new organization called the Gay Scouts of America and the REAL BSA should just expell them and continue the traditional scouting.
When I was in the scouts in the 1950s, there were no openly gay guys. If there had been, they might have suffered a nasty fall over a cliffside while on our 5 and 10 mile hikes in rugged country.

Lord Baden-Powell started the Boy Scouts to fight against everything they have now become. The executive board members who voted for this will burn in Hell
Time to abandon the BSA and form a new scouting association: perhaps call it Indian Guides.
Learning how to fellate your fellow Scouts or Scout leader was just not on the menu of offerings back then. Sorry to be so graphic about it but that's exactly the kind of thing this supposedly "progressive" policy will lead to.
Back when I was in Scouts, nobody had a need to identify themselves sexually. We were too busy being Scouts and having fun to be concerned about who was and wasn't homosexual. Why should it be different today?
My two boys were in Cub Scouts but never went on to become full Boy Scouts because even back then, the handwriting was on the wall. Not just with respect to homosexuals but the entire program was becoming sissified. The last straw for me was when a parent (mom or dad) was required to attend any overnight camping trip with their son. If I have to chaperone my son on a camping trip, I'm going to take him on a camping trip myself and do it my way.
I must have gone on a dozen camping trips between when I was 8-15 years old and never once did I have mom or dad tagging along.
